"Neighbor" to the north is a Christian Church. So far no problems with them, and I don't anticipate any.

South of our property line is "city limits" of the bustling metropolis of Mt Washington Ky, (pop. 8135 last count) There's a street with about a dozen homes, probably built in the 1950's, and populated with older couples. (70's and 80's) I've met 3 of the couples. Nice folks that appreciate my concern for keeping my land "undeveloped". We're all on the same page there.

To the east, through the woods and over the hills and 'cross the creek is a lonely stretch of highway. No neighbors in sight.

West? Well, there's gotta be a fly in the ointment somewhere. Got a couple "Can I borrow----(insert ENTIRE TOOL COLLECTION here)" types who seem to be on everyones nerves, including mine. Their kids are a public nuisance. Their dogs are always barking. Wife's are local gossip queens. Good thing 1500 yards of dense woods seperate us. (I can't get off a clean shot....;) ) There is one guy on this road who owns a couple tractors, always has some sort of "project" going on, and seems to mind his own business. We talk regularly. Good guy!

I hope they all view me as a good neighbor in the sense that I keep my place clean and neat, don't bother anyone, and have a strong sense of "civic pride". Beyond that, I'm not too concerned over their opinions of what I do and how I spend my free time.

Fortunately, I'm the type that considers "neighbors" anyone with-in an hours drive that I enjoy being with. We're about 10 minutes drive from our best friends.

Monkey monk , I don't know what it was, or is that you are trying to say. I don't remember anything about taking a bath with your neighbor! Playing doctor maybe;) perhaps a shower if she's cute. But this bath thing, you can come over here and take as many baths as necessary with my neighbors! Why do you want to bath with neighbors? I am having a really tough time here, might go call mom! :D

Do your neighbors, friends, co-workers etc. look at you in amazement when you meet them and tell them what you accomplished over the weekend?

You're kidding, right?

The Pit & German Shepard should have been shot on the spot...any dog on your property "playing" with your horses, kids, wife whoever gives you right to protect your family & property.
Clearly you need to move though...you are completely out numbered by the trash of our species.
Yes I agree with you there, we had a spot in the garden were wondering killer dogs found there final resting place. People would come looking for there lost killer and it would be haven’t seen them. Now don't get me wrong I am a dog lover and owner but how many times is enough to warn someone and how much livestock is enough before you have to deal with the problem. When someone else’s pet becomes your predator then you have to make them just go away

EDDIE, I think you redefine the words "COURAGE, SELF CONFIDENCE, and PERSEVERANCE." To me, a project as great as yours, would overwhelm me after the first year, forcing me to "fold my tent" and run!! The challenge and fix anything mentality you have, is a gift that very few have, on such a large scale. Someday, when the restaurant is up and running, I would include a few photos of some of the hardships you faced on the walls of the restaurant. One that would amaze some of your patrons, would be the dozer on the berms, with you underneath it, in the process of the rebuilding the engine, while laying in the dirt! Eddie, I am sure you have many others that should be on the wall in that future restaurant. Everytime I start struggling with my projects, I get reminded of some of yours. As the project nears completion, you and your beautiful wife, will have a lot of accolades from many people. I have followed this project from the beginning.----LEE

This is a VERY serious question with deep, underlying implications on our everyday lives. And you make light of it? By the way, how much does your neighbor pay for milk?

Neighbors don't because I'm in a small farming town and there doing the same thing on the weekend as me, but the people I work with in the city (Tampa) think mowing there postage size yard is hard work and have a hard time understanding mowing for 2-3 hours every weekend.

Most of the the city folk hire out everthing from building a privacy fence to mowing there yard or painting there house. It does seem that when I look at a job around the house I say "I can do that myself" and there way of thought is pay someone to get the job done. I see a lot of city couples that don't do much of anything together there running here or running there, there so busy busting there backsides for cash flow to have the two late model cars in the drive way they loose sight of whats important in life.

Humm, seems I am getting a little off track of the thread here so i'll step off the soap box and shut my mouth now....
