I will be the first to admit it has got to be one of the hardest businesses to make it a long time in, the restaurant business that is. The friends I know that have restaurants they are there 24/7. I would never say it's an easy business for sure. It's tough no doubt and constant competition.

I went to both the Cowboy Christmas and the Country Christmas. So much good stuff to buy!!! Like a kid in a candystore. I didn't even know the SASS convention was out there. That is something I would like to do but just don't have the time.

All buisiness is tough. I dont honestly know any one that makes a easy liveing. Heck, I'll admit I used to think Doctors had the easy life untill I met my wife. Then I realized that for the last 15 years before we met when I was whoopin it up and liveing the wild life she had her face buried in a book or was working for next to nothing as a resident. The other fellows Job always seems pretty easy untill you walk a mile in his shoes, The greener grass and all of that I suppose. I guess since Emeril has become so popular being a Chef is viewed by a lot of people as kinda coool. LOL. If you only knew. I dont know how many Docs I have talked to at partys and dinners etc that say " If I could do it over again I'd be a chef". I always want to ask them if they hit their head or their self medicateing. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif why on Gods green earth any one would want to work twice as many hours for a fraction of the pay is a mystery to me. But hay we both wear white coats and in the end thats probably what they'll take both of us away in. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Try to enjoy some good meals there richard, maybee next year you can convince them you need an assistant. I do reall good at holding script pads, bandadges etc /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I was very fortunate to date a young lady that taught me to consider what kind of day the waiter/waitress might have had, rather than judge them solely on the service they provided me.

Next time you consider whether to tip or not think about... that lady that did a terrible job serving your last meal may have five kids at home, a husband in jail, is getting evicted from her appartment if she doesn't pay the rent tomorrow, and just barely managing to keep the one constant in her life - her job.

Feel free to judge someone.

I will always leave a minimum of 15% tip, thank you.

If I'm not happy with the service I will let them know verbally...right after I am thru eating /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
