The early JD 2 cylinder tractors were unstyled, meaning they didn't have any sheet metal. Later they started adding grills, hoods and other clues to make them look nice.

My brother-in-law (whom I think desires a tractor for each implement) has a 1972 4320 with a cab, a 4020 and a 5000.

That being said, my personal favorites in no particular order:

(1). Farmall 504 narrow front end/diesel

(2). John Deere 4020 diesel wide front with PowerShift & ROPS canopy

(3). Farmall 140 with 1-point hitch

(4). John Deere 4440 with SoundGard cab and MFD

(5). Farmall 340 with narrow front and 2-point fasthitch

Well, since I have a small place, I think in terms of smaller models. So:

1) Oliver 550 diesel w/ the horizontal slat grill (not the egg crate) and power steering
2) IH 350 utility diesel w/ P/S
3) JD 435 diesel w/ P/S (and utility style if they made one)
4) Allis C/A w/ wide front
5) Farmall Cub Lo-Boy w/ belly mower (red & white)

Curious, are all 656's hydro? I drove one once and loved it! That's one I would like to get someday.............. I'm just not that familiar with that model/year/gear vs hydro stuff.
