Thanks guys. he already told me the pics are recent. what you see is what you get . he is selling it because it turned out to be not quite enough, power wise, to do what he had in mind for it. and has just used it for mowing around some tight areas his big rig couldn't and has hauled it out to a deer lease he and some buddies have to plant some plots for a couple of seasons.

but now he want's to start back up on some plans he has and wants to use the sale money as down payment on a new tractor larger than the 1500d but smaller than his larger tractor. I'm no tractor expert but I think I can make a pretty good evaluation on condition, as for tires, first thing I did when I got my 1610d was to take it this place I know that works on a lot of forklifts & steers and had the front tires filled solid. no more flats running over sapling stubs. I may do the same on the 1500d maybe not don't have the brush now on the place I had then.

course anyone can get fooled sometimes. If you are willing, say a prayer for me, that I rightly judge the situation. Good deals are still out there & there are still honest folk around. though the way this old world has gotten lately, you kind of feel like you have to expect that everyone is out to rip you off.

As to knowing its a recon, when in this country were they not? aside from the 3# models yanmar sanctioned. Even the "New appearing mdl's from fredericks' are mostly just safety and cosmetically enhanced recons aren't they? Anyway I'm going to pull a trailer on a 3 1/2 Hr drive tomorrow In hopes..............Thanks for the advice and support Bob.

I don't believe it to be a VN. recon. And may have made it's way here before the V-tech loader and the bad reputation of the VN. Yanmar Recons. I had/have the same Yanmar Hood decals but they was Faded pretty bad so I removed them. I've owned it since 08 and it looked like it just rolled off a boat with no major problems. Rebuilt the starter and a axle seal was the only out of pocket cost for parts. And then I actually gained some of that back. The charge light would flicker and apparent the stock Voltage Reg. was replaced with a new style Solid State Reg.. Took me some testing before finding the problem and it was the Fuse panel. Loose & a bad connection on the back of it. So after I found it curiosity about both Regulators had me guessing so I went back and plugged the Old Reg. in and it works fine. So for the 75.00$ it cost me for the starter rebuild wasn't a problem.
The Rear tires dry Rotted a started to split. Year before last and I used a Tire Reliner from Gempler. Fixed that problem and I mean cheap!! The Org. lugs are still huge! so it was well worth it going that way. I may Foam the front. They're dry rotting and showing their age. Or just replace them being just 2wd.. Trying to keep my weight down since I mow a good bit and no loader. A reversible rear scoop that works surprisingly good though. I did most of the grading with a Track Hoe when I built my house. I'm with you Being retired and I'm Dis. also and would hands down go for the 1500..............

I feel your pain. I'm older than you, owned tractors and made do without a fel since I was a kid. I've got to where I can't look over my shoulder so I stand to use dirt scoop and gin pole. Power steering is shot on my tractors so I've been looking for a package of older domestic tractor and loader. They are few and far between in Tx. I've found Yanmars w/loader that need repair but don't feel up to the task. When I almost have myself convinced to hire repair done, cost of parts make's me think otherwise. No offense but compacts don't seem to hold up and parts are 3x what they are for older domestics. At any rate, what I have to say is I see far more fel in Ks and Mo than I do in Tx. Is that where you are finding them? Best of luck in getting what you need.

Do you have a pickup, and/or access to a trailer?
You can look somewhat father away.

I have a 1997 K2500 GMC and 14K trailer.
Am looking for an L48 Kubota 2004-2009.
I am 78, but will travel up to 700 miles if I can find what I want.
Drove 450 miles each way for my 4x4 Ford 1920FEL 3 years ago.

Also on the Tiller I don't think it will de a problem handling it. I used a Yanmar Rs1400. On my mothers garden that she kept for Yrs.... Went through it easily being Prev. tilled. And if I recall and is very easily done. Remove a Tine or outer Tines so a smaller tractor can handle the first turn easily and then Hey!! put them back 2 bolts... Yeah they work good. This pick is with it as pretty much deep as possible.

I say that cause of the vtech loader. Of course they could of bought the loader to install on any tractor.

No there not all recons, the first ones were just imported and sold. With minor fixes done to them, like a new seat or fix a hose, or new radiator. Then Frederick went to basically a recon, where they go over the whole thing and repaint and rebuild. That's different the the VN recons that are redone in Vietnam and imported here. Often haphazard work and field fixes that may not hold.

You may be confusing recon and grey?

You can bet that's a VN recon. They developed their bad rep as they were the worst of the worst, repaired as needed with mismatched parts as available, given V2 or Bulldog loaders and a sparkling paint job. As stated, if it has been in use for a while should be ok.

I stated before the only problems I've had with The My Ym2000 and was purchased ASIS.. This is my YM2000 not long after I bought it. And I highly doubt It's a VN'er.
