Tractor
Yanmar YT359
There was some info posted in another thread stating that the YT359 posted weights included the FEL and ballast in the tires. I guess the logic on that assumption was the listed weight says it includes fluid, and all of them come with FEL and ballast. There was some back and forth in the thread and I didn't want to continue to pollute that thread so posting this one.

I have a new YT359C and really wanted a solid answer on this since eventually I'll need to tow it. I reached out to Yanmar and verified that the published weight does not include ballast or FEL.

In my case the tractor weight:
Tractor - 4442 lbs
Ballast - 1100 lbs
Loader w/bucket - 1096 lbs
Total - 6638 lbs

The listed width of the tractor is 71.7", that is with the wheels in the narrowest position, they can be moved 7.7" wider putting the overall width at 78.8"

Hope this helps clarify a few things for anyone looking at the Yanmar YT3

For comparison JD 5055E ,(JD’s lightest series)

Tractor 7054 lbs
Ballast 1100 lbs
Loader 1994 lbs

Total 10148 lbs

Deere is 52.8% heavier, that’s very substantial . Once again I like Yanmar’s but wanted to point out facts.

Not disputing the weight of the JD, but you're comparing a compact tractor to a utility.

I don't think the Yanmar is light when you compare it to others in the same class.

Personally, the weight of the Yanmar is pushing the limits of my truck if/when I need to tow it, and I don't want a bigger truck.

Tractor + Implement + Trailer and your pushing 11k or more.

That was a big problem for me, too much ballast liquid. So I worked on draining much of it out with the rear wheels in the position where the valve stem was centered, all the way down. Drained fluid until it reached below the valve stem level then added air. Good to go, no problems since even with full manure fork full of stockpiled bedding straw and sheep manure from the covered feeding area.

That's apples and bowling balls; compare it to a 4 series, Deere's largest compact utility tractor.

I'm estimating the ballast weight with the assumption that the dealer followed the recommendation in the owners manual, which is fill to 75% which is 550 lbs
