The engine starts with no problems, when I take the brake off to start the ride, the engine goes off. Any thoughts???

Most likely a safety switch issule. Most likely the seat switch or associated wiring, which could include a relay.

Make sure the handles are all the way out - either one pulled in just a bit will also kill it. Handles out, release brake, then pull handles in.

If it isn't a problem with the order of brake release/handle use, then it's likely the seat switch. I have a problem with mine every so often, and it about drives me nuts. Sometimes I can just bounce on the seat a bit, but usually I have to get up, lift the seat, pull the switch connector off and on a couple times to re-seat and that does it.

The connectors don't look corroded or anything, but re-seating seems to do it. I'll have to clean them real good sometime...

Would have to be something with the seat switch. If one of the steering handles was not all the way out with the brake on the engine wouldn't start.

Miquel,
Lift the seat and remove the 2 bolts that holds the seat switch assembly in. There should be enough wiring for you hold the switch assembly in your hand while you're in the seat. Start the engine, squeeze the seat switch, release the brake and see if the engine still dies. If it still dies the seat switch is bad and needs to be replaced. If it didn't die then either(don't take this wrong) you don't weigh enough or there something inside the seat preventing the switch from being pushed maybe a mud dabber nest. The wiring connector for the seat switch has a special feature built in to it to prevent you from just bypassing the switch.
