Your comparing apples to oranges. Gas vs diesel. We ordered a 1211 with the rear discharge. Hopefully getting it this week depending on the rain. I borrowed a buddies side discharge and it was unreal how well this mowed. To me it's worth spending the money and getting what I wanted and what would fit in well here. Another perk is we have a bunch of diesel onsite and I don't have to worry about gas going bad in the winter. Is it worth a 4K premium, that's for you to decide but we are moving everything to diesel and I like only having to deal with one fuel.

Brett

Yes, I know I'm comparing apples to oranges . I wasn't aware that Kubota has a diesel Z turn. If I decode on the kubota, I will break my budget of 6K that's for sure ! LOL
The Kubota is the only mower I have looked at that has greasable spindles on the mower deck. All the other brands call theirs maintenance free. I also like having the rear discharge option ,and the diesel would most likely out last the mower and be fuel efficient as well. I'm using a ton of gasoline cutting these 10 acres of grass.

I may wait until you get yours and get you to post reviews on the Kubota.
Did you get a better deal than I was quoted ?
I'm going to another Kubota dealer monday and see what price they quote me on this mower

I think I'm paying $14,100 plus 400 for a canopy. The RD does cost more. I think they price you got was fair and on par for a SD. They ordered mine in as they don't sell many RD and the salesman knows how weird I am and has kept it in their barn since it came in. I order nearly everything unless it is still in a crate. Won't buy stuff sitting in the sun on a lot so that could account for some of the cost.

New rtv should be here mid sept. Same thing he has the one I want on the lot but it's been there since may.

They are a lot of money but they are so nice to mow with it's easy to justify. With you mowing 10 acres the diesel will be perfect for you

the one I looked at also has an installed canopy. I really don't know if it was a RD or not. I do like that option.
This one wasn't sitting out in the sun. It is sitting on the show room floor. I'm going to talk to one more dealer and find out what they will do on price.
I didn't ask the dealer I got the price from if there was a discount for paying cash. He may have thought I was going to do Kubota finance. Cash ,or finance wasn't really discussed . If I can get a better price paying cash, That's the way I'll go

I gotcha but if it only saves $500 on the life of the note, I'll take the 0% all day long and leave my cash alone. Also keeps the KTAC which I'm very excited about. Good luck on your search. Hopefully I'll bring mine home this week but at the rate it's still raining, I don't know if it's going to happen or not. If it gets pushed back to far I'm just going to wait till my rtv comes in and get the both. Dealer is about 1:20 away I bought from

Looking at Bad Boy and X Mark 60'' cut..
Who owns one of these ?
Would you buy the the brand again ?

I own a 2010 Bad Boy with a 52" cut and a 31hp Kawasaki with electric deck lift. I have cut my pasture with it when grass was 3 ft. high. mowed right threw it. Unless you have a pristine yard and smooth as a baby's butt. Ain't no one gonna mow it as fast as it will go. I know I can't. It will knock you Kidneys right out of ya. I mow about 2 acres with mine and it takes about 1-1/2 hrs. to 2 hrs. to mow.
Thought about a Dixie Chopper. Most commercial Lawn mowing companies and Texas Highway Dept. use them down here.

This is from my personal experience I have owned a Kubota Z-turn diesel (60 inch deck)And a Ferris ZTR 26 hp kohler (61 inch deck)The kubota did sip fuel but beat my guts out mowing. The ferris of course used more fuel but the ride was 100% better.

well, I finally got off my lazy butt and went to the Kubota dealer. He had a demo ZD 1021.
I brought it home and tried it out today. All I can say is WOW ! This 21 HP diesel has some real power ! The ride wasn't real bad with the suspension seat. I know what parts of my property are rough and which parts are smooth. I slowed down some in the rough part and still finished 5 acres in a couple hours or so.

Bad part is this dealer wants 12,249.00 out the door for this 1021 demo. Said that is as low as he can go.
I called another dealer about 60 miles away, that has a new one. Said he would take 12K +tax which would be 12,399.00 out the door.
I would really like to buy from the guy /dealer that let me demo. but I can't justify his price for this demo.

No one has a ZD 1211 demo. Not sure I even want one.
I like the xtra HP of the 1211 for only 1K more. Bad part is, the rear wheels /tires stick out past ,or even with the deck ,which makes it where you can't cut close to a tree , fence, etc, because the rear tires will hit what ever you are trying to cut close to before the deck could cut the grass

A Ferris would be nice. They are about the same price as this diesel. Ferris (I believe) have aluminum non greasable spindles, elec. clutch, and 2 belts.

The Kubota has a internal wet clutch that engages a driveshaft that goes into a gearbox to turn the cast iron greasable spindles. only one belt to deal with, and it is a massive belt (about 2 inches wide)
The Kubota's diesels are built so much beefier than the other commercial mowers I have looked at.

If all goes well. I should be able to bring home the new 1021 tomorrow

You are somewhat correct. Some ferris models come with non greasable spindles some do though. My good friend bought a new ferris this year that has the cast iron greasable spindles with oil cooled 26hp vanguard motor with 61 inch deck for $8500 out the door price.Very nice ZTR..Good luck on whatever you purchase..

I have a 2014 Bad Boy ZT Elite I purchased new. It has just over 300 hours and I had to replace all the spindle bearings last weekend. There were areas in the field where the grass was thin and dirt/dust was kicked up. I guess that's the problem with sealed bearings. They were easy enough to replace and ran just under $50. Other than that it's been a great mower. This past spring I ended up purchasing a Agmate 72" rear mover for the tractor. It has cast iron greasable spindles and does a great job. Couldn't beat the price at $1200, $1500 delivered. The Bad Boy now mows the finished lawn around the house and the Agmate does everything else. If I were you I'd stick with your budget for a ZT for the main yard and get a rear mower for the tractor. You'll still be under the amount you'd spend for a Kubota diesel ZT mover.

If you get a bad boy make sure you get the Kawasaki engine and not the Kohler.
