Dargo, check this out from a few weeks ago. I was not enough up to speed on e-bay or Ferris at that time, but this looks like it was a great deal. I saw it then and it actually lasted several days before the buy-now was taken out. Assuming it was real and it appears to be.

Just got to drive the IS5000 yesterday, yeehaw what a machine, if I had driven the machine before that e-bay ad, think that e-bay machine would be in my garage even if it is overkill. Hard to tell how rough the land was compared to mine but I was wide open full speed ahead in no time and the ride was totally acceptable, nice even. Drove it over some pretty good ruts to get to the grassy area and didn’t even feel them. Only thing I noticed was not as nimble steering at the Dixie, the Dixie I was able to put anywhere I wanted very easy, the Ferris was much harder to be accurate with. I’ll take ride over accuracy though. I have no experience whatsoever on a ZTR so it’s probably me and not the machines. Expected to drive the water cooled 26HP machine but it was out on a test drive. Curious how your machine did once the deck was started. Doesn’t sound very promising an engine wasn’t strong enough to start the deck, even if the spindles were tight. Perhaps they run them lean. I had assumed all the recent engines would be built as rugged as my Kohler 18HP Magnum, it has a very heavy flywheel that when the engine is shut off you have to wait for many seconds for the engine to finally stop....this helps keep things going when hitting patches of thick grass, hard to slow it down. I want to see the Grasshopper and Woods front mounts but having a hard time even finding one.
