Barry,
The 4341 is a popular model--we sold two with 102 loaders from our inventory last week.
To answer your questions:
1) These tractors are easier than most diesels to prime after running out of fuel. They have a manual hand primer pump near the injection pump which will usually gets it going without bleeding the injectors---if the lines haven't been run completely dry.
2)The mechanical shuttle does require using the clutch, and it will not be quite as easy as the hydraulic one on your dozer--but with practice, it is much faster than trying to find forward and reverse on the gear shift lever. It is also much less complicated (and less costly to repair)than a hydraulic shuttle.
3)Ballpark around $200 (fluid ,filters,&labor)--unless the dealer has included this in the package price of the tractor /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
4)We recommend fluid balast at least in the rear tires--especially with a loader. Wheel weights are also available.
Balasting the tires and widening the wheels all the way out, combined with the already heavy built nature of this tractor should give you an ideal machine for your intended use.
