So they are used in some areas. Seems like a much better idea then a regular one way plow. I wonder though why they are not more widesprerad in their usage?

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words.

This picture was worth one for me.

WOW.

That is impressive and who could argue that.

Barry, Picking up those heavy rocks really demonstrates the lifting power of the Zetor tractor!

A picture of an IH 140 plow is attached. The front end loader on my Zetor 4341 picked it up off the trailer with no problem, however, when I put a front wheel into a dip in the ground, I found myself wishing that I had already filled the rear tires. It got a little light on one rear tire. I got the plow to the ground safely. The three point picked up the plow with no problem and the front wheels were still on the ground. The garden site I wanted to plow was tight to get into so I decided to take off the fourth set of bottoms. With the three bottoms, the plow worked quite well. The photo is not my actual plow. The one in the photo is in better shape. But that dealer wants $2000 and I only paid $125. I can put on a few new plow shares and a coat of paint for the difference.

Do yourself a favor. Don't wait go get your rears loaded. All tractors with loaders should have the tires ballasted. You were lucky this time next time may be different. I would hate to see you scratch up that nice tractor. Oh yea, I would not want to see you get hurt either. Good luck and
Happy Tractoring.

Good advice, Chipperman, and well taken by me. My only decision is what to put into the tires. I know calcium chloride is the standby and has the highest density but it can also be quite corrosive if it touches the metal of the wheels. The Zetor has innertubes in the tires, so under normal use, corrosion probably shouldn't be a big problem. Others have suggested using old antifreeze or high quality windshield washer fluid. Any suggestions?

I think you'll find that Zetor loaders are better balanced on the frame than some others. I road about 3 miles on tar to another place + brush clearing which takes it's toll on tires so I opted for Zetor iron wheel weights, can be added to equal what calcium chloride weight would give you. The chloride will kill whatever it leaks out on. Another safe bet is a handy 3 pt weight you already have.

Our old JD A has loaded tires with the rusted out rims on the junk pile that goes along with it. I give the rusted rims to friends for campfire pits. They in turn provide burgers, brats, & beer during the summer when up camping.

I'm jealous of your plow, they go for $3-400/bottom at auction around here. I ended up at $200/bottom from the classifieds.

Pix of Zetor loading brush.

Fishing opener is tomorrow (Walleye) in MN. Have you mounted a fancy fly pole holder on your new tractor?

I would fill the tires with Rimgaurd (non corrosive, no hazmat) available at many tractor or tire dealers or the cast iron wheel wts. I am not sure the wheel weights will equal the wt. of loaded tires. I would not count on an implement to be your ballast. Accidents happen when you are in a rush or not thinking (and have not hooked up the implement or wt. box) With loaded tires (or wheel wts) you don't have to think. Thats my 2 cents.
Happy Tractoring
