some of the consumer grade pumps have those rod bypass valve releases, the more commercial ones have a bolt you back off on the pump...don't force much either way as it is just a seal. i ALWAYS release the valve when towing or pushing w/o power. trying to move it w/o releasing that valve could put undue stress on the hyd system. you paid a lot for it & the pumps/motors are excessively expensive to replace. skidding it in mud might be ok but won't do that to mine..... only imho
