So, cutting grass today in hi flow with 90 inch mower. Error light comes on and machine goes into standard flow mode. Finished cutting grass. When I shut machine off I can put it back in high flow (blades spin faster) but it only stays there for a few seconds and then light on high flow goes out, error light pops back up and machine goes back into standard flow.

Anyone have this happen before?

Also anyone know location of valve block on the 5610?

Bobcat guy says probably short in solenoid. Makes sense but hate to throw parts at it. Probably could check resistance across solenoid and if it is low would confirm short

Note in manual on pg 33....."The 70 in and 90 in mowers max hyd flow is 87 L/min (23 us GPM). Hydraulic flow higher than recommended will cause attachment damage."

Std flow= 19gpm and high flow is 28gpm.

28 gpm is at max rpm. I just run engine at lower speed 2000rpm or so. Attachment is fine. Been cutting like this 8 years

Update. Valve block accessible in from right passenger side. It is in the central tunnel under the joystick and a/c knobs.
High flow solenoid coil showed resistance of 3 ohms which I assume is consistent with shorted coil and that seems awful low. One of the other solenoids was around 10 ohms which seems more appropriate. Looks like top panel will have to come off to get to it though so may be a bear to replace coil.

I looked at my G-series manual and it didn't seem like it should be hard to change just the coil.

Thanks ruffdog. Looks like will need to remove panel that has ac controls on it. I don't think I can get to the coil from the side access panel on the r side of the box frame. Does your manual show if the entire upper console (part with joystick, cupholders and switches) need to come off?

Trying to find a good place to get the service manual online for cheap or free :).

I spoke too soon when I said changing the coil wasn't too bad of a job. That was before I saw what it took to get to it. The joystick, 4ws switch panel, rubber arm pad, throttle and 3pt lever knobs, 3pt lever, wiper switch, rubber arm pad base, plastic top cover with rear switches, all come off. Then the metal cover under the plastic one.

Code 29-02 high flow solenoid error ON
code 29-03 high flow solenoid error OFF

I couldn't find anything about testing the solenoids and the ohm #s in the manual.

I found a service manual online for $20. Job will not be that bad. Taking center console and access panel will probably be most aggravating. I did confirm that that the coil is the likely culprit. With coil unplugged the high flow light comes on and stays on, of course it doesn't actually go into high flow as solenoid is not energized. Reconnecting coil results in error code after a few seconds of high flow, but valve does work. So pretty sure I'm on the right track. Will keep posted when part gets here. On f-series, looks like joystick can stay attached and panels slide over it, but removing it is not too bad if it has to come off. Just will be a few steps to follow. Service manual is nice with clickable links in table of contents to take you straight to procedures.

Repair completed. Was not that bad. Joystick did not have to come off. Side access cover on passenger side, console and top access cover under console had to come off. They slid over the joystick. New solenoid was slightly different and had to grind down plastic hold down nut and use a different o-ring in order for threads to have adequate bite. New solenoid did not have a recess ground into it. Works fine. I must've hooked something up wrong the first go around because PTO would not work and got error 50-78. Took things back apart (just wires on console switches) and reattached everything. Did not find my error, but after that all is well. Error code went away. BTW resistance on new solenoid was about 10 ohm. Old was shorted and read 3 ohms. Good to have the old girl back working properly. I use the 5610 for everything. Probably need to have a backup machine like a v417 or a t190 as well......

Get a service manual. Worth every penny of $20.

Good to hear of your fix.

If you get a V417 for backup, it might get used more than the Toolcat

I’ve run my 90 “ mower on high flow for short periods when I see a heavy spot coming. If I’ve tried to run too long, I’ve gotten high oil temp warning. Mower definitely cuts better on high flow or with the higher flow of my T650.

We use high flow all the time with the brush hog, but keep the RPMs around 1800 because it is not a high flow brush hog.

Can you hear the Hydraulic cooling fan come on?

Yeah, my fan comes on. Are you using high flow on bush hog or finish mower? It has been pretty hot on days my temp warning comes on. I’ve just figured the Toolcat is like a lot of Bobcat equipment that doesn’t have enough cooling capacity on high flow.

I’ve run my 72” Bobcat brush mower on high flow, I think it can handle the Toolcat high flow, its not that much higher than standard on my T650.

I did not think you could activate "high flow" for use on non-high flow equipment.

That may be true for attachments that also use the 7 pin plug.

At idle with the brush hog spinning, when the high flow switch is pushed you can hear the blades spin faster and the light in the switch stays on.
