    Lighting up my B2320

Hey fellas, it's been probably 2 or 3 years since I've posted, but I'm in need of some advice. I recently upgraded form my beloved BX1860 to a B2320. I loved the BX and did about 100 hrs a year on it, but just needed something a little bigger. I use the tractor to maintain my motocross track...

    BX1860 leaking 2 of 3 vital fluids

Last Saturday I thought I'd scrape the last few inches of snow off the driveway in anticipation of a thaw heading our way. I was about 80% done when I smelled hydro fluid. I looked back at the back blade and saw the spray. SH%T, I jumped off the seat and looked and saw shiny hydro fluid on...

New to Case, question about 224

Hello all, hopefully this is an easy one. My bil has recently purchased a late 70's? 224. Very cool tractor, ran great until it broke.:( We were installing the snowblower for the first time, and of course here in MI we only get about three hours of daylight in the winter....at any rate I...

    BX starting rough

Since the cold, my still shiny BX 1860 starts rough. Smoke, trying to fire, then it sputters and fires up. I've let the glow plug go from a slow 25 count to a slow 55 count, no real difference. I haven't been using it that much lately, the last time I put diesel in it was probably a few month...

udt vs sudt, do they mix?

Did my 50 hr service yesterday. It went well, but I lost about two quarts +- of hydro fluid. They sold me udt, I assume that is what is in their. I topped it off with the udt, then wondered if they had udt or sudt in it? Does it matter? Maybe my delivery manifest would specify? I'll check...

Sorry, another 50 hr service thread

I'm planning on my 50 hr service happening today or tomorrow, and have some questions about it. Do I need to remove the loader to remove the engine cover? I'd rather not if I don't have to. There seems to be a lot of misinformation on the particulars of the service. My lovely wife was nice...

    Yellow Jackets not being friendly

Does anyone know of a good way to dispose/remove hives? A week ago my brother and I were doing a little clearing out in the woods, when he was suddenly swarmed. I yelled at him to jump off the tractor, he was trying to back out as I watched the swarm grow. I assumed it was a ground hive, the...

    Three point hitch creaking/Tire inflation

My three point creaks as it is lowering. When I go into the barn throttle back and lower my ballast box, there seems to be some creaking. Is this normal? Everything seems to be straight, even etc. Question 2 Should I be checking tire pressure and setting it with load on the tires? For...

    Tractor identity crisis

A few days ago as I was tending to a small issue with my upgraded tires and wheels for my BX 1860 a poster on this site said, "since you are the only one in the world with a 243 loader on an 1860." Am I, does anyone else out there have one? Some how I doubt it. Well, now I have the perhaps...

    Land Pride RTA 1550

I was just wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge of this model? In the literature it states 17-35hp tractor. Is this at the pto or tractor engine hp? I would be running this on a BX1860. I think my pto hp is 13 or so at wot? Any suggestions? Would it be too big, or a reasonable...

    Pressure relief valve on LA243

I'm wondering if its me, or does everyone get a hissing/air escaping sound when they are lowering the boom on the loader? It seems like the only time when it doesn't hiss is when I lower the boom slowly. Is this sound indicative of something I'm doing, or is that normal? I know that there is...

    Impressed by BX1860

I've lived in my house for 9 years. I've ownwd my BX for two months. When I bought, the property was littered with everything you could imagine. A late 60's Chevy Nova was on its roof in the woods,(one of two) but by far the biggest eyesore was the 10 yard pile of large concrete chunks...

    BX 1860 starts rough

The last few times i've run my BX it seems to start pretty ugly. Today for the first time it started and quit. Lots of white smoke for the first 5-10 seconds. It lives in a dry warm barn, and only has 20 hrs on it. A while back I posted a thread about starting procedure and have not really...

How much sway is too much?

Just wondering how tight the check chains should be on my ballast box. The manual says to adjust for the sway, but thats it. Should it wiggle a little? Seems like they put some pretty whimpy chains on the BX. My inclination is to crank that sucker down tight, but then I chicken out and leave...

    Thorn in my tire

I was clearing an area back in my woods not too long ago for some fruit trees. Had to take down some small trees which the BX does quite well at. After I got everything cleaned up I noticed a 1 1/2" thorn in my rear tire. Apparently the hawthorne tree thorn is tougher than my tire. My...

    LOUD WHINE from HST

At least I think it is loud. Don't really have a point of reference since this is my first real tractor. Do most SCUT HST whine? It doesn't seem bad, just louder than anyhting else on the tractor. Is this normal? BTW all fluids are full and topped off.

    Starting Procedure

This is probably a pretty dumb question, but here goes. In my manual for my BX1860 it states that at start up the throttle should be 1/2 open? I've never done it, any other engine I've owned seems to start and warm up better at idle. On the other side of that lately when i've been starting...

To ballast, or not to ballast

This is kind of a continuation of an earlier thread. I as well as the other gentleman was sold a tractor with FEL and told loaded tires was sufficient ballast for my BX 1860. Thankfully i'm on TBN ALOT, and learned many good reasons to have ballast, other than keeping rear wheels on the...

Checking fluids on a new tractor is no joke!

I thought it could't happen..after my brand new tractor showed up with the loader that I didn't order (see thread BX1860 with LA243 loader?). Finally after a few weeks I felt ok about it. Next, last week I noticed a small hydro leak where the quick connect couplers are. Called the dealer, he...

    Kubota nomenclature

Stupid question of the day. What does the second set of numbers stand for? BX1860 obviously 18hp, what is the 60? series? What does that tell me? I'm new to the nice tractor thing, have had a couple real rough ones, this is my first nice tractor. Just found out they make an 1830, and an...

    Loader  BX1860 with LA243 loader?

I bought a BX 1860 last week assuming that it would be delivered with the LA203 loader that I ordered. When the delivery arrived the tractor had the LA243 loader instead. I mentioned this to the delivery man and he said "you got and upgraded loader for the same price". All of my Kubota...
