That smoke you are describing is normal for any non EPA tier controlled diesel in colder weather. Probably does same in warmer temperatures but lesser smoke. This what EPA is chasing on tier 5 motors absolutely no smoke on start up. I can imagine room where EPA has diesel motor on stand starting with oxygen analyzer sampling air for contamination. Like anyone runs combustible motor in confined area other than milk barn moving manure that is creating carbon footprint. We become to tied up with Microsystems we lose sight of big commercial creating far greater environmental impacts. Easy to pick on the little guy they cannot fight back but comply or abandon farming altogether. What say you neighbor farmer.
