AI is already programming them… through the little devices they hold in their hands. Carefully curated content. It is true there is no truth to them anymore, because their truth and world view is carefully constructed by an algorithm. Again, the designers of this technology have a great documentary, and it is eye opening.
FWIW my sons Earth Sciences prof told his class on the first day, yesterday, that it will be the only day she lectures. We are going on 6 classes now, where this is the status quo. He is only 14, so he only takes two accelerated 8 week courses per semester. Heroes I tell ya… in the trenches!
Good question. Educators have a pretty powerful lobby. See Covid closings. Then what's the point of having such a professor at all? Just to press the play button?
It really cracks me up when people who post multiple times(hundreds?)that the MSM can’t be trusted. “If the LSM posts a story it must really be the opposite”. Etc.At least those not suspect of confirmation bias.
Does he like the outdoors plus the excitement and gratification of law enforcement?
Does not pay as much, but some say more dangerous.
Anyhow, good for him.
That's funny. I've never been checked by an Indiana CO in the 46 years that I've had to have a fishing license. I've fished in Michigan maybe 30 times in that same 46 years and have been checked maybe 15 times! Especially when ice fishing. That’s an interesting option and I’ll throw that one at him too. That job could be good in the popular fisheries and some of the better areas of the state. Certain areas of the state are a bit of a joke on DNR enforcement though. The area of the UP I’ve hunted for years will have only one CO responsible a very large area, and some of the locals (like my cousin that lives there) seem to know where that person will be for the day.
I have one child in a masters program and another child in undergrad and they say the same things. Put on a movie and the professor sits and reads his I-phone.
So it’s not just him hearing that.
