JD3640 4x4
Model Year: 1988
What I like most about the older models of John Deere (I also have a 1640) are the simple controls, unlike all the modern tractors. These tractors have genuine horsepower, unlike Asian built with the same rated hp. My only negative about John Deere is that you must buy genuine parts, hence higher price, particularly when it comes to the hydraulics. If you are making changes, i.e. to front end loaders, standard hydraulic fittings have different thread sizes.
Pros: Well built, strong, simple to operate.
Cons: Cost of spare parts.
