Bought this 16.5HP Cub in 2000. It had 200 hours on it and had been used primarily with a snow blower attachment. We have a 1 acre lawn with big slopes, lots of turns and obstructions (trees, gardens, etc.). It has been very reliable, always giving a hint first if there was a problem. It now has 800 hours and I have replaced the vacuum actuator, rebuilt the carburetor, changed engine oil, transmission oil, spark plugs and filters regularly. We run it with a 44 inch mower deck. Has been and still is a great tractor. My wife, who does all the mowing, loves it. PS. One of the brackets that holds the mower deck on rusted through and needed to be repaired. Also replaced "cheesy" oil drain with a real pipe and drain plug.
Pros: Very well built machine.
Cons: Cheap seat & engine oil drain system.
