The 65 Commander 6000 Diesel is a Tank
Model Year: 1965
This thing is raw power, 66 hp diesel stock with no turbo (can get a kit and put one on). It's a very good pulling tractor, cast iron front end and weights 7100 lbs and ballast 9550. Pulls a 5 blade plow on 12's like nothing and is also a great baling tractor. The original 65 6000s were I believe red or orange and white but got recalled and the blue and white ones (like mine). Have PTO upgrades and more hp etc. Only problem is the select-o-speed tranny is jumpy on some gears but its 2 rev speeds, and ten forward speeds, goes about 20 mph in tenth but its one hell of a machine.
Pros: Easy to work on, easy to operate, don't build them near this good anymore.
Cons: Some gears are jumpy with select-o-speed tranny.
