JD125 John Deere
Can't Complain
Model Year: 2007

This riding mower has worked very well ever since I bought it new in 2007. I have done nothing to it except change the oil, gas and air filters, greased it regularly and sharpened the blades. I have no complaints about performance with this machine, however I do have a big issue with the paint peeling off. When it was 4 years old the paint began to peel off in big sheets on the foot platforms and up the fenders, and across the floor. I sanded the loose paint, primed and painted, and it seems to be okay. However, I don't believe a 4 year old machine should have such a paint peeling problem. When I complained to John Deere, they referred me back to the dealer, who would not return my calls. So much for customer service.

Pros: Does what it is supposed to.
Cons: Paint peeled off.

JD125 John Deere
Not Very Tough
Model Year: 2007

Ok I use this thing pretty hard on a Hill Country ranch. I run into lots of rocks and stumps. I have torn up the mower deck twice, I'm fine with that, except the first time the dealer replaced it they didn't get it on right and it rattled. I took it back 3 times before they got it right! That's really frustrating because it takes a lot of time to haul it to a shop when I don't live at the ranch. One time they returned it just like it was - like maybe they just tightened a bolt and called it good and hoped I wouldn't come back. But they finally got it right. The new mower deck is banged up but it works great and I'm happy with it. The engine is great. Oh, the hydraulic pump went out on me, the hydrostatic drive died and I had to take it in for that also. That was a manufacturer's defect and they fixed it right the first time, under warranty. Since then it's been a good mower.

Pros: Engine smooth as glass.
Cons: Not as tough as I hoped it would be.
