Sub Compact 25 HP 4 wheel drive. This past winter we had 2 snow falls greater than 15 inches. I used a snow blower to build a path and the rear blade to clear all of my drive way. My wife does not have a problem getting on it and the controls are easy. We have used to clear snow, dirt piles, mow 2.5 acres, haul dirt, pull my neighbors JD tractor when it broke. Very pleased.

Pros: good manuverability, sturdy, always starts , great dealer and warranty
Cons: changing the Anti freeze every year? I had to buy front weights as the blade in the rear made the front a little light in the snow.

Good little machine
Model Year: 2006

I've had this machine for a few years now and I have to say that after making a couple minor modifications, it has been a great little machine. The FEL is useless in my opinion without some counterweight. I have a woods backhoe on the back which added $5k to the price tag. Pretty steep I thought, but without it, it won't lift much. With it though, both FEL and backhoe work well together, hydraulics aren't that smooth but I'm used to operating Hitachi full size excavators. The little woods backhoe works reasonably well but it's VERY limited by it's reach. It won't even bale into a pickup truck. As for the tractor itself, my only gripe is that it has a huge oil filter that hangs down between the back wheels and I twice created leaks by smashing the filter. I had to fabricate a skid plate which took me a few hours. Other than that, I still have the original battery and have done nothing to it except change fluids and grease zerks. And I do not baby this thing. I don't rev engine till it's warm but after it's warm, engine goes to maximum rpm and stays there till I'm done. I told the dealer that if it can't take hard use I don't want it and I have not been disappointed. Obviously it is not a substitute for a Case 580, but for homeowner use, it works well. And no drips of anything on my shop floor!

Pros: reliable, 4wd with locking dif works great.
Cons: counterweight on back necessary for FEL operation. low ground clearance.

This has been a great little machine so far. I purchased it because of its price, 0% Financing, size and maneuverability. I replaced the turf tires with commercial lug rubber before delivery. The clay on my property fills the tread on the tires in certain situations which would have made the tractor useless with turf tires. The tractor has plenty of power except backing out of a hole with a loaded bucket. The extra traction the commercial tires provide is more than the engine can put to the ground, but that doesn't happen often. The loader will lift more than the box scraper can counter balance safely so adding 100 pounds to the top of the box scraper is a must. The attachments I have, include: Loader, 52" Woods Box Scraper, 52" Woods Rototiller, 9" Speeco Post Hole Auger, 5' Harrow, Single Point Ripper. The only thing the idiot engineers did wrong with this machine is locate the hydraulic filter at the lowest point of the machine in front of the rear case. I have knocked the filter off once so far--losing all the hydraulic fluid and dented the canister multiple times.

Pros: Value priced for multiple functions.
Cons: The only thing the idiot engineers did wrong with this machine is locate the hydraulic filter at the lowest point of the machine in front of the rear case, which of course you will knock off and lose all your hydraulic fluid.

Just had this tractor for a little over 2 months. Everything about this tractor has surpassed my expectations. My only complaint would be how the seat is mounted to the tractor. It's mounted to the rear fender cowling, with no support connected to the frame of the tractor. I've solved this problem by going to the local sheet metal fabricator and having a piece of .125 thick diamond plated aluminum 13" X 16.5", bent at the 13" length at about 35 degrees. It looks professional, and solves my problem. I've been using my neighbors 5FT box blade behind this tractor with no problem. I have a FEL, that works great, but tractor is pretty light. With the 400 LB box blade on, I have no problem with the FEL, but would need a ballast box without it.

Pros: Plenty of power, power steering, starts great in cold weather.
Cons: Seat problem (I've since fixed), oil filter hard to get at, alittle lite, so needs additional weight.

Seat Pan Repair
Model Year: 2005

Great tractor. I have the 60 inch mower and loader. The seat pan cracked at the front support. Attached photo shows my fix which is working fine.

Pros: Great quality for the most part.
Cons: Seat pan too thin. No recall on this problem.

TZ25DA - Not Designed By Someone Who Maintains Tractors
Model Year: 2005

This is great little tractor, but one of the fuel filters (there are two) is hidden behind the heavy (fluid-weighted) rear wheel. You have to jack the tractor up and remove the rear wheel to get at the filter! The fuel pump is behind the instrument cowling, so you have to remove the steering wheel and disconnect the instruments before you can test or replace the fuel pump! I'm altering mine to reroute the fuel lines and place the filter and pump behind a large access door on the column behind the cowling, so I can get at them without disassembling/jacking-up the tractor. It seems like the way it should have been done in the first place.

Pros: Small enough to use between buildings, agile
Cons: Designed by someone who hates mechanics
