Simplicity Sovereign 7018H
Model Year: 1979
Simplicity Sovereign 7018 with hydro-static transmission and electric lift. Attachments: 48" mower deck, 42" grader blade, 48" snow blade, 42" rear scraper blade, 48" mid grader blade, Rototiller, tandem disk harrow, spring tine harrow, Snow blower, 10" mold board plow, garden furrower, yard cart, and seed/fertilizer spreader. I love this tractor. It is a beast. I have used it for everything: mowing the lawn, grading a foundation for a shed, clearing drainage ditches, plowing, rototilling and furrowing the vegetable garden, plowing snow for the whole neighborhood, road grading, tree moving, pulling posts and dead trees out of the ground, and field plowing for reseeding. It is a powerful machine. Even with chains on, the tires will lose their grip before the motor will stall. With the electric lift and three PTOs it is incredibly versatile. Currently working on plans to fabricate a front clamshell tractor scoop. Also contemplating retrofitting the snow blower to the rear PTO, so that I can plow snow forward and blow snow backward. Issues: I have had a few parts wear out on me - Starter motor, starter solenoid, ignition switch, fuel lines, fuel gauge, belts, Mid PTO clutch. But, considering it's age this is to be expected. The problem with this is the difficulty of getting replacement parts. 7018s are rare and finding some of the more specific parts is difficult. I have to be careful to clean the engine regularly. If the engine overheats, the valve seats can dislodge. Wish list: Power steering - The motor is heavy, and it is a good arm workout driving it, especially with an implement on the front. Independent rear lift - It would be great to lift and lower front and rear implements separately.
Pros: Strong and powerful for garden tractor. Very versatile.
Cons: Can be hard to steer. Don't let the engine overheat. Parts availability.
