In the heated shop at home next to the race car. Use tractor more than car, but the boys are growing up and they can wreck the race car. But stay away from the tractor Chris Putzier

Inside when I'm not at the weekend place. outside when I'm there, I need the space in the garage to work.

My 3320 sits inside the garage as clean as the day it went out of the back door of the JD plant...and my wife reminds me all the time.

Wow, I'm surprised by the amount of people who keeps their tractors inside. My 3320 open station sits in the barn because I hate sitting on a wet seat when it rain and I hate seeing all the cobweb when it sits outside...means that there are spiders around !!!

I am moving to a bigger tractor with a cab so it will have to stay outside since it won't fit in anymore. Given the addition of a cab I don't see a huge difference between the tractor sitting outside or the truck sitting outside.

I am fortunate to have a 5203 and 2320 both--have saved me so many back killing hours. They live in a metal tent now, but am getting a small metal barn built to house them and my Miller Bobcat. After 30 something years of doing everything with a shovel and wheelbarrow, my two green pards are being treated right.

Depends where it is. If the tractor is at the yard with the shop it is always inside at night. At the other yard there is no inside for it so it has to brave the elements. It has a block heater so still okay in the cold weather.

Inside with all the implements too! :D

The Kubota stays unless its being used and never has spent a night outside. All of my attachments stay inside to. I seem to keep adding to my collection of MUST have attachments that sooner or later I will run out of room for them.

Mine is in Garage with dehumidifier, so rust doesn't form in these damp summer months.

Hiya,

Ours sleeps inside all the time. In the summer, "inside" is a "garage in a box" shed out back as most of the work is in that area. In the winter, she's in a heated garage out front ready for snow patrol.

Bonus tractor geek points if you can identify the brand of both the wood splitter and the push lawnmower in the picture. :D

Cheers,

Tom

Not too far off topic here- how thick should I pour concrete in a garage to hold a big 37xx tractor with backhoe? Also a 2210 and pickup. Everything I read says 4" is enough, but that does not sound right.

We poured 6" for our garage and it held a small dozer (7000 pounds) just fine.

We have a Lester building with a 4" floor. The previous owner kept a vintage Greyhound bus RV conversion in the building. My Lester guys said you don't need 6" until you get to big ag/construction equipment.

You might not need 6" until you get to the really big stuff, but around here concrete is going for ~$100/yard.

6" vs. 4" is an extra $0.62 / square foot. At that price, it just "feels better".

Yep if you can afford it go with 6"

My tractor is stored in the barn.
If they call for snow my daughters car is placed outside and my tractor moves to the garage. After last winter here in NH I found it easier to start from the house rather than trudging thru the snow to the barn. The other advantage is that my garage is also heated....

Inside heated, plus all attachments sleep inside.

I have owned tractors that I kept outside and it does not take long for them to deteriorate (in looks). It was pretty discouraging.

My current JD stays inside (I booted the newer and more expensive mini-van out for the time being).:)
