Does your tractor sleep inside or outside

Hmmm.... got me to thinking. I have been wanting to build a pole barn to put some of my stuff in - garage/shop/office is full - and the Northern Tool shelter logic thing just might work until I can get the barn done.

However, I do take care of it, even though it is stored outside, but I agree with some others here - it is a machine, designed to take the elements to a certain degree. Mine has the Deere canopy so that protects it some, at least the seat area.

i think i know where youre talking about. if its what i'm thinking of, VERY cool place! i had always wondered who lived there. the one i'm thinking of has a historical marker in front of it and a farm over to the side of it like you're going to Camden.

That sounds more like Dixie Hall. My aunt owned it for a period of time, but lost it to the IRS. I think some New Yorkers (Yankees for sure) own it now. Sad part is, when they started to demo the kitchen they found a 1700's era musket wrapped in oil skins stuffed in the wall. The gun was mint and pretty much paid for the Dixie Hall's restoration!

We've never told my aunt that either. No need to add insult to injury.

Our farm, Marston Plantation, is closer to Sans Souci Plantation over by Edgehill and Raccoon Roads.

The 2008 Mahindra 5525 and the 1964 MF-135 diesel are taking up space in my shop right now. The 1951 Farmall Super A resides in my newly completed 20x28 ft tractor shed.

Need to build two more of these sheds for the 5525, MF-135, MF-124 baler, MM P3-6 grain drill, Allis Chalmers 80T sicklebar mower and the JD 350 side delivery hay rake. Looks like 2009 will be a busy year.

Beautiful country ... wonderful old Episcopal church there at Stateburg on top of the "hill" overlooking the capitol city.

I'm over in the "Law's Crossroads" area of what is now Lee County. (That's between St. Charles and Lamar.)

I split a hole and shoved the plastic bottle over the end of the garage door track......if one was not paying attention, he could run his head into the end of the track when coming down the stairs......could be a real bloody OUCH!! The plastic bottle should keep the flesh penetration level to a minimum.

The Helis are IC.....a 30 size and a 50 size.

The tractor and implements stay in the barn all the time when not in use to minimize weathering and to at least minimally secure against theft.

mine would fit easier, but i have tool boxes, wheels for the other cars, stuff lined up on all sides, so its a pretty tight fit!

Here's a pic of the 18x21 metal carport I had installed about three weeks ago. My plans are to eventually enclose it but for now it keeps the rain and sun off the green machine. Here in SC, it doesn't get all that cold so I'm not too concerned with it freezing up and having the problems like you folks have way up north.

Mine sleeps inside the garage attached to the house where it is much warmer than the other garage. Keep the pickup in the other garage. Not because I want to. It just that the pickup is too long for the garage attached to the house. I also used it as a reason to build the other garage. he he he
