Hey, I find the plastic comforting.... it reminds me fondly of the toys I had as a child. I simply resigned myself not to run into stuff. So far, its worked out fine. Of course, my wife drove it this weekend.........

It's also helpful when you curl and lift your loader too much and you dump stone on your hood. No dents!

Hi folks - just got my new BX25 last weekend (my very first tractor), and I love it! Very glad they don't have plastic any more, and happy that it fit on my 5' X 10' trailer.

I've been digging with the backhoe and having great fun getting to know the levers. Can't say I'm digging very fast at this point, but things are moving along.

This is going to be a great machine for so many things, but I've noticed a few things that bug me already. First, it still stinks and makes you nauseous even though the emmissions are supposed to be relatively low. (Can't help that much, I guess.)

Second, the stabilizer pads don't hold when you have to pull hard with the backhoe, which limits your ability to make use of all the power you have. Also, it is a bit of a pain to rotate around and face the other way when rotating the seat, but again I can't see an immediate solution for that. Also, there are no lights at the back, although I seem to remember a ROPS-mounted accessory you could get.

I would also recommend using ear-muffs, as the engine noise does get to you after a while. And I'd also like to see some serious mud tires become available, because the dealer and the area rep told me the optional BAR tires (which look like the right kind of tread) are in fact wimpy. (So I took the industrial tires, which someone on the compact tractor review website said tend to plug up with mud.)

BTW, does anyone have any comments on the stability on side hills and the like? I want to take it over to an ATV trail to fix up some bad spots.

Regarding side hills, stay off. If you must traverse, fill the tires, have a rear ballast and keep the fel low. (In addition to all this, I put rear wheel weights on for last Winter snow duty but I have not taken them off this past Summer because of the added stability I've felt on my hills). But the most important ingredient is cautious behavior and low speed movements. This takes patience and experience which are lacking in most new operators just by virtue of natural law.

Go up and down the hills not sideways!!! As mentioned rear ballast is a must, keep bucket low and if you have the MMM keep it on if you can as this also lowers your COG

*How did you get a 15 foot long tractor on a 10 foot trailer?
You need at least a 16 foot long dull axle trailer with brakes on all 4 wheels.
The load capacity should be at least 7000 .
More would be better .
You also need at least a 3/4 ton truck to toe with.
I've been told this is the least I need for hauling my BX23 ever sense I got it in 2004.
I'd say hauling a BX25 is way way overloading the little 10 foot trailer & is very unsafe for you and all those inocents who share the road with you .

1*I haven't noticed that.
2*That's mostly a matter of operator experience as you can drag most tractors forward with the BH.
3*No big deal to me.
4*Not unless you can figure out how to face 2 different directions at the same time.
5*Most people add their own lights on most brands or models.
6*My BX23 is very quiet and smooth running.
My old Bolens and my CC GT 2554 Gas engines are a lot louder than any of my BX diesels.
7*I wouldn't have anything but AG/ Bar tires on a tractor.
They were standard on my BX23 and are not wimpy.
8* Of the 3 tire styles , industrial tires would be my last choice.
I've heard it more than once that industrial tires turn into racing slicks in mud or snow.

I remember bringing my BX24 home on a 6x12 trailer loader 60"mmm hoe and 60" scraper blade strapped to the back 50 miles. Nerve racking drive that was. Now I use a 10,000# Tandem axle car trailer with only one axle having brakes. I pull it with my '04 1/2 ton Silverado and does just fine.

If you position the tractor so that you're upwind from the exhaust while digging w/the hoe the nausiating feeling won't happen anymore. Made that mistake once. Most likely your stabilizers aren't leaking down but sinking into the dirt. Sometimes you'll have to readjust. That's normal. I really like my turf tires except in the mud. They're great in the snow, but they fill up with mud too. As for traversing hilly terrain...a touchy subject. I've had my BX24 on 2 wheels 3 times. Any how if you must, keep the loader close to the ground, low side stabilizer close to the ground, the hoe angled uphill and low, and go very very slow with right hand always on the loader joystick and be ready to drop it. But wait till you get some practice under you belt. The hydro pedals took me some getting use to. And wear your seat belt. Congrats on the purchase of your new toy..er..tool and best of luck.

I would back it up on the trailer, let the back hoe hang over the tongue and raise the loader to rest on the ramps. That's how I got mine on a 12 foot trailer with a scraper blade.
