Does anyone know my Hoe's Nipple size?

Hello folks...
I'm trying to find my hoe's nipple size.
My hoe is a BH75 and I'm looking for the thread size of the Grease nipple's.
I bent a few nipples due to a malfunctioning Grease gun. I've since replaced the Grease gun tip.
I took one off and I took it to Napa to find a replacement.
I used their thread tool to try to find a thread match.
The closest I could find was a Metric 6 mm with 1mm pitch and standard thread. But, when I matched the threads side-side they weren't the same.
They didn't have a Metric 6 mm with 1mm pitch and FINE thread.
Does anyone know what the right thread size should be?

I was under the impression that even the Japanese were on the same thread standard for grease fittings.
I thought it was "1/8 inch pipe (tapered) thread" - BICBW (again).

It may be British pipe. Some equipment runs that as a thread. Check around for a set with all three grease fittings, SAE, Metric and British Pipe.

Ahh, quite possible.
If the Brits were the original inventors of these "grease fittings" I think it quite likely that they would have called them "nipples" (-:

Have you tried 1/4"-28? Many Kubota branded attachments are built in North America using SAE/USS dimensional hardware. If the Nuts and bolts aren't metric, chances are the zerks aren't, either.

If you have the ability and equipment I would try to run a die onto the threads of the existing nipple/Zerk to determine exactly what it is. If you find one that seems ok then run the corresponding tap (by light hand pressure) into the hole to make sure.
BTW I've never had to measure my Hoe's nipples.

I bought spare fittings that where just a little bigger with a tape and drill and replace with a SAE fitting when one breaks off. I figure its a little bigger and might hold up better. not sure if its the right thing to do, but been working for me.

I tried the 1/4" - 28 and I think it is almost a perfect fit, but the bolt head feels like it is an 8mm.
HUmmm???
DOes 8mm bounce to something else standard?
