Does anyone know my Hoe's Nipple size?

I had a grease zerk back out and the threads got screwed up in one of my BH75's stabilizer pins. I went to Napa and got the 6 pack zerks, part # 715-2007. They are 6mm. The exact package description is 6MMXI - 19/32" Overall Ballcheck. The zerk heads (ballcheck) are slightly different than what Kubota used, but the threads were a perfect match.

It looks like the LA403 has some larger 8mm zerks.

Thanks Bandit,
I'll go back to Napa and get a new pack.

I think I need some help from some of you.
Here is my problem:
For the past few months I have been having a real hard time greasing the BH75 (hoe). I connect the grease gun real easily, pump the grease, but then when it is time to come off, it doesn't want to come off. It is stuck.
I will wiggle the grease gun tip back and forth, back and forth, while pulling on it and NOTHING.
I need to use Vise grips to hold on to the grease gun tip (chuck?) in order to get it out.
That is how I broke a few nipples so far.
I have replaced the Grease Gun tip with a NAPA tip and still no improvement.
I went as far as connecting the new Grease Gun tip to a grease nipple without being connected to the grease gun hose and it still gets stuck.
There has to be a better way of doing business...
I am pretty puzzled at this point.
Any help?

Thank you,
Rick

You should be able to adjust the end of your grease gun tip. The tip will unscrew from the part that screws onto the grease hose on the gun, that will loosen the jaws that grab the zerk.

Little known quirk of the zerk.;)

I had the same issues with my Napa grease gun. After replacing a worn out grease gun coupler tip because grease would ooze out between the zerk and the coupler tip, and not put any grease into the zerks, I picked up a nice heavy duty Napa replacement coupler. And it got stuck on darn near every zerk I tried it on. Spent a half hour greasing the machine because I was wrestling the coupler off the zerks.

It finally got so stuck on one of the zerks, that I had to dissassemble the coupler in order to get it off the zerk. I took that one back, and bought a couple different regular duty couplers, and the first one I tried has been much better after 3 around-the-tractor greasings.

That part number is Napa 715-1151. They've got 5 or 6 different couplers, and some are very similar, but that's the one that has been mostly trouble free. No more cursing while trying to grease the machine.

That doesn't always work on some of those couplers, especially when they're brand new. But definitely worth giving a shot to deal with those stubborn couplers.

Thanks Bandit,
715-1151 is the one that I bought from Napa and was giving me problems also.
And thank you atgreen,
I tried to break the NAPA 715-1151 with no luck (used a vise and Vise-grips).
I did get another tip from Tractor Supply Company this afternoon and that tip came undone by hand. I'll try to grease the backhoe with that one tomorrow.

Thanks folks, any additional help is appreciated.

Lets add TISCO RMGF12 to the list... This is a set of 6mm, 8mm, & 10mm straight, 45 & 90 degree "zerk" style fittings found on current Kubota production. Specific part number for this assortment is 669857. TISCO doesn't have a web site that "Google" can find. TISCO products are available at Tractor Supply Houses and Industrial Supplier US wide.

wow - i totally thought this thread was a joke by the title.

anyway i have nothing to add, other than it was insanely hysterical reading the title....AND after i actually read it - i have the same freaking problem. but it's not just on the Kubota so i don't think it's just a product of that.

my grease gun will do the same thing - pushes grease out the tip sometimes, then when it's right it'll be extremely hard to pull off. really annoying for something that should be simple. i guess i'm sitting back and watching this thread.

The Zerk clutches (tips) are meant to have adjustable grip to account for fitting wear. Simply loosen or tighten the outer sleeve to get the proper fit. When you get a new coupler, loosen the sleeve so you can turn it by your fingers. You may have to use pliers that first time. Whenever I run into a fitting where the grease gun wont release easily I simply loosen the outer sleeve until it releases. NO FIGHT.

The NAPA countermen should have explained this to you. This is assuming they even knew.

when i do that with mine then the grease comes out of the fitting/end without going where it's supposed to. my guns are both nearly brand new - hardly used.
