4410 electric op PTO, bang on/bang off.

I know this is a bit of an old thread, but an over-running coupler (ORC) would certainly solve the problem of sudden stoppage of a brush cutter. It simply fits into the end of the PTO drive shaft (the end nearest the tractor) and over the PTO stub at the rear of the tractor.

These were pretty much required on older tractors, such as a Ford 8N that I had a number of years ago.

I've got a 4410 with ePowerReverser and I'm not sure what you're talking about. The electric clutch on mine starts a little abrupt, but when I disengage it, whatever is attached (RC, chipper, whatever) freewheels down to a stop. If you're RC is stopping abruptly, I think it is a problem with the RC.

We were going to try that but the only clutch we could get our hands on was a split pin mount type. Then later found, or didn't find a hole in the shaft end.

Or, maybe yours has a problem. I certainly don't want to fix mine if it's broke! I'm not the least bit concerned about things stopping too quick.

This issue is the reason I went for the larger frame 4610 when I bought my tractor. Dealer told me that on the mid frame tractors the pto was a hard start and stop, but the large frame has a soft start.
