Ford & IH finalize diesel divorce

I have put chips on all three of my diesel trucks with no issues what so ever. The first truck I put one on was my 99 F350, then on my 04 F-250, then on my 06 F-350. I personally like Quadzilla products. I have driven nearly 200,000 miles on these 3 trucks with no effects other than wearing out tires and getting better MPG. I still have 2 of these trucks and use them 75% of the time to tow. I do turn down the tune to about 80HP gain when towing. I put all them on all three trucks as soon as the first oil changes were done at 5,000 miles along with different air cleaners/intakes and larger exhaust.

I'm with ya man, but just arbitrarily saying "add another cat" may not come close to the PPB level the EPA has mandated or else the auto companies would do just that.

maybe your all not following what im trying to say I dont like the emmissons very much they have seemed to ruin the diesel for me, not that i wouldnt own a new diesel because i will one day, but theres no black smoke its weird:eek: the new Dmax and Cummins are very torquey motors even with those DPFs on there havent even been in a 6.4 or even a 6.0liter for that matter.

They do work, more fuel, but I would NEVER buy one. All the things you break will NOT be covered by warranty. GM now has the technology that once hooked up to their scanners that will show a tamper/programmer code.

NOT worth it.

Especially when you have a 360HP/650TQ truck that runs like a dragster right off the dealers lot. :)

I couldn't fathom how on earth anyone could need more than 325-350HP from a light truck, not to mention a medium duty.

My IH with my pump & turbo modifications runs about 270/700 which is real nice for a medium duty. Even when fully loaded, it gets the job done, without excessive wear on my drivetrain.

Diamond thats the way to go with any truck gas or diesel, buy it run it for an oil change then put the mods on it. Exhaust,Chip, and intake. I also like to add a little bigger tires and a leveling kit too.

Yep, my Dmax has been chipped since 03 and 7k miles. It now has close to 90k, and the only failures caused by the chip so far has been the tread balding on the rear tires. All 3 sets to date.

you still looking for international or doesnt matter?

IMO, I would stay clear of any International medium duty between 02 and 06 with the multiplex electrical system. The multiplex system works similar to cable television, and one multiplex circuit can carry up to 25 channels, which cuts way down on wiring, that is a good thing. The reason I dislike these trucks in particular, is that one, International engineers, in their infinite wisdom mounted the main fuse box under the hood right above the drivers side front wheel, and took very litttle provisions to sheild the bottom of it. Once all this Ohio salt ramped up with calcium chloride coats this fuse box for a year or 2, you can imagine how the 100 or so wires hooked up to it start to break off of their terminals at the worst possible time, or just corrode to the point that their is a ton of resistance, which can realy confuse that multiplex electrical system. Second, I have seen high school kids do neater jobs of wiring their stereo systems than IH did running wires under that hood, can you say rub through. In 07, they finaly cleaned up the wiring and put the fuse box in the cab.
