OK, I just got the call from REI; direct cost for the radio is $229.99 and the antenna is $14.99. He was very helpful and hooked me up with an Ag warehouse that distributes their stuff...the guy from REI said it would be cheaper to go through them than directly from REI (not sure why that is...?)

In any event, I need to contact the other place and get pricing from them... Stay tuned (no pun intended)! ;)

All right, I had a minute and decided to call the warehouse. It's T.H.E. Company T.H.E. Company - Tom Hassenfritz Equpiment
They were about 13% cheaper than going direct to REI and they offer free shipping to fist-time customers. Well, I decided to just place the order so I have the stereo and antenna coming in.

Many thanks to my new friend from the South JP for all his efforts to help me out! :)

This is a great web-site and the Massey guys are a great bunch.

I'll try to provide some install photos when the radio arrives.

Great! Glad to be of service. What about the elusive adapter? Does it come with something that will plug into the Massey connector or did you have to order that as a separate item?

We especially want to see the photos of the antenna install. Pretty much only one way to go with the radio itself, but you have options on the radio.

I forgot to mention that somewhere along this thread I obtained the adapter harness. My wife had ordered it for me from my dealer for Christmas (I don't want to begin to tell you what she paid for it...) but it is identical to the one in your picture. I had printed out your photos and was looking at them at home when my wife asked about it. I told her I was looking at the harness adapters etc. when she laughed and went to her closet; she had the harness adapter but had forgotten to give it to me! I guess the plus side is she thought about it before I ordered another one! Anyway, I'm hoping that's all I need.

Antenna: I was plowing again this weekend (snow, not dirt :) ) and when I was done I looked at the left side pillar. Down low there are two holes plugged with rubber stoppers. They appear to be too small to mount an antenna but I am going to look into that location a little further.

Well, the good news is, my stereo and antenna came in yesterday. The bad news is I threw my back out Saturday night so I haven't installed it yet... :(

Bummer, I wish you a speedy recovery. I know the back thing all too well. I have had back trouble since my late teens.
Take it easy, jp

I've been to the chiropractor twice so far...some progress being made...but it's going to be a tough time plowing (snow ;) ) tonight, even with a heated cab!

I have another appointment on Friday; hopefully I'll be able to do the stereo install this weekend. :)

Does heat help your back? If so go to a truck stop (they usually have all kinds of 12V stuff) and get a 12V heating pad to put behind your back while in the tractor. You probably know it, but there is a 12V lighter type socket on one of the rear cab posts. I know you will be warm in the cab, but the extra heat on that back could really help.
Here is an example: 12 Volt Car, Boat, RV Seat Heated Pad

Good luck with the chiropractor, they never helped me any

I've been switching between ice and heat...none really work that well. I'm getting better but last night was rough plowing... Plus I broke my plow twice so I had to wrestle with that, which didn't help any... I have to work on fixing that tomorrow when I get home. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to instal the stereo!

Well, I got the radio installed this weekend. Talk about a tight fit! It was bitterly cold and I ended up cracking the headliner slightly near the upper lefthand corner of the radio. Boy does that tick me off! I'm not sure how I can fix it either...

I mounted the antenna on the left side pillar down low near the fender right where the plugged holes were. Reception is....marginal. I can get the classic rock station based out of Springfield, MA but I can't pick up the country station (while moving) that's based in the same city! :(

The CD player works well though. :)
