Can you imagine how efficient an engine would be if it could be made to ron on 100% pure liquid nitroglycerine???? If you could find some way to keep the raw components on hand and have them mix right at the fuel injector you could inject about 1/100th the amount of gasoline required and get the same amount of power.

Anyone read any newspaper owned by the NYT? Ourl local paper ran a full page 'article' (add?) about water to gas. Same hype being talked about by the OP poster here.. how the hydrogen magically catylizes the reaction... etc.

Had testimonials an all.. one woman claimed she went from 27mpg to 52 mpg in her compact car...


I couldn't tell if it was an 'AP' article or not...

A lot simpler, more elegant, and cheaper solution is to buy a 12v to 115v inverter from Radio Shack, plug it into your lighter socket, and plug a standard 115v window fan into it. Stand the fan up on your truck or deck lid and enjoy the free power while you drive. If you have a boat, tow it with the motor running. Be sure to lower the motor down. I seen way too many guys keep the motor raised up and dat reduces efishincy. Them little propellers that stick in your hitch are worth sumptin too.

Another way to boost economy and fuel efficiency is to always park on a high hill. Sometimes you won't even have to start your engine to get to your destination.

I often drive next to a semi-truck and hold on to the rear rail with my hand to get a free ride. That way you can let go when you get there. Be sure to pick a truck goin where your goin.

BTW: The NYT has recently subscribed to a lot of stupid ads because readers no longer aggree with their politics, subscriptions have evaporated and they need to get some cash.

You've got it all wrong. It's the 10 second rule, and it goes like this...

"After you've dropped food on the floor, if you can't count to ten by the time you pick it up, count slower."

Should have mentioned it was usually a 50/50 water methanol mixture. The engines may have had turbochargers or superchargers.

We need the ice/water for normal water purposes (cleaning, drinking, growing plants, etc). We can make hydrogen fuel from the water, but you would need outside energy to do this. Solar or nuclear would be my best guess. Without water on a planet you would have to transport very large quantities of material from Earth. That's why they say it is so important.
