BX-24 Rear Drive Shaft Fan Questions

I think this is something that Kubota has just recently come up with. I was just recently made aware of it. I'm attaching a picture of it from the parts breakdown for those who are interested. We don't have one as we have been fortunate to not have any customers break thier fan as of today.

if you look at the pics, there is a opening on the bottom anyway for the fan to flow thru or air movement, how is that protecting anything ? I suppose its better then nothing , but should be offered to existing bx owners for free!

I think that the drawing perspective fools the eye - I bet the size of the angle portion is bigger than it appears and the hole is to provide for the PTO access.

I'm disappointed...I expected a better solution from Kubota engineering, and I agree it should be a free retrofit. Looks like fan would still be vulnerable to things like saplings. Let me be devil's advocate for a moment...if owner has one of these installed and fan gets damaged, is fan covered under warranty?

Methinks I'll stick with my skidplate(s)...

awesome !! It would be great if you took pics and some sort of measurements if it not too much trouble before you install it. I am curious on how it would fit on other BX's as well.

I just received my fan cover kit also but cant figure out where it bolts to. Any one have any experience putting one of these on yet?
