GC2410 key switch

Hi Everybody,

I got the GC2410 out from under the house today and the key switch did something interesting. When rotating the key to the glow plug and then start position the key kept turning to clockwise. Finally when I was about as far as my wrist would turn the key hit the start position and off we went. When I shut down the tractor I turned the key counterclockwise and it turned until it was back at the stop position and it seemed like the switch hit a stop of some kind.

I will take a quick look at the switch tomorrow when I put the tractor away but I am wondering if any one else has had a similar problem.

I also want to thank all the productive members of this forum, you were all very helpful in my decision to purchase the GC2410. And to LBBrown you singlehandedly helped me to eliminate the Kubota tractors.

Sounds like the threaded retaining ring that holds the switch to the dashboard may have come loose, allowing the whole switch to rotate-- get after that soon, as every time it turns it's putting stress on the wiring beneath the dash.... Your dash is different than mine (2310), but I'd be willing to bet the mounting system is the same for the ignition switch- pretty standard.

I was betting it was a threaded ring, hoping it was not a spring clip type retainer. I did not have time today to look at the tractor since we went away for the weekend. But I will look at it on Tuesday or Wednesday.
