What size would you reccomend, with or without BH?

16 footer is a nice size with BH and without. It's what I have and I think its the right size.

They are built much lighter .

I believe if a trailer is rated for 7000 #GVW then it doesn't matter if its a equipment or a landscape. They ARE BOTH RATED for 7000# gvw

And my dealer ( they have 4 stores) delivered uses a 7k on a regular basis for B series and BX TLB.

let it go!

Exactly!-This gives me more carry on weight, not less. I wouldnt want a trailer that weights 3k and then its no good for the BX and attachments. Plus lighter means better gas mileage when towing empty.;) If you want a heavier trialer, then you will need to look for something in the 10k to 14k range. A decent 7k rated trailer weighs nearly 2k anyways, so this is plenty heavy enough for a car. In fact, my trailer dealer showed a car hauler and its has the exact same frame but higher rated tires as my trailer. The car hauler was close to 3k range and it appears to be a deck over but it had a metal deck which is not what I need. As diamond pilot mentioned before, its the axels and tire ratings that is the weak link, not the frame itself. So add a landscape ramp or a car ramp, its the exact same trailer.

When I bought my used BX2230 with a FEL and Box Blade, I came out with a 14' double-axle trailer to get it. I should've measured first, as I had to hang the FEL over the front of the trailer. Didn't feel at all safe, but it was a short drive. I now rent a 16' 7K landscaping trailer whenever I need to take it somewhere, and have had no trouble at all.

Why not ? It works just fine. I think you are overthinking it. :rolleyes:

My 16' Aluma landscape trailer is rated at 7000#. Dual axle and dual brake, I think that's plenty for a BX.
OK you fellows may have me convinced .
Which one cost the least ?
Why chose one over the other.
What are some of the differences between the two?:)

An equipment trailer has all of the framework below or flush with the deck and generally has heavier tiedown points. A landscape trailer has sides that extend up above the deck, usually about 12-18", and those sides are an important part of the strength of the trailer. For larger tractors, those sides and limited tiedown points can be a problem. My BX fits nicely on a 16' landscape trailer and gives me room to walk around it on the deck while loading. I have to raise the MMM deflector when I load with the mower on.

If buying a landscape trailer, make sure the ramp can support your tractor while loading. According to the dealer, my expanded metal gate is capable of supporting 5k pounds but I am suspicious. I do plan to eventually add another piece of angle iron where the tires roll up the ramp as well as some legs to keep the trailer from tipping up so much while loading.
