I have a 4100 tractor and have been looking for a 60 inch mid mount deck for it. I have occasionally seen them on ebay but have been outbid. What is the difference between the green and yellow decks? Is one more of a commercial application? I have been told that they no longer produce these decks though some dealers have them sitting in their inventory. Anyone know what I should pay for one of these or where I can get one? My local dealer in Massachusetts said they are no longer available. The last one I saw on ebay was a yellow one, advertised as "new old stock" and sold for just under $1000, I was outbid in the last seconds of the auction. Thank you!

The only difference between the green and yellow decks is the color.

Not exactly true.

The commercial "7-Iron" decks are ALWAYS green, whereas the yellow decks are NOT the 7-Iron. That being said, some of the commercial grade decks were yellow as well. Basically "7-Iron" is Deere's name for their most recent commercial decks. They made commercial decks before that but didn't call them 7-Iron and sometimes painted them either color -- green or yellow.

Confused yet? Look at it this way:
--> If the deck is green, it IS commercial grade.
--> If the deck is yellow, it MAY BE commercial grade, but it may not be either.

I am not confused at all...The only 60" MMM that was sold to fit the 41xx series tractors where first yellow, then green.

So my answer to the OP's specific question was 100% correct. Now if your talking about mower decks in general-then you are correct.

Yep, i bought a yellow one used, and then was considering buying a 60" green, just as I traded it in on my former 4310.
