The truck had better not be worth NOTHING!!! Seriously, I have been very happy with it so far, all 400 miles on it. I did drive it, unloaded and not pulling, to my parents mountain place yesterday. Even with all the hills, etc. the computer was showing 20.7 mpg and it seems to correlate well with actual calculated mileage on my fuel stop. I can say already there are some things about my 250 I liked a little better, but I really like the drivability and power of this truck I bought and it fits in the parking deck well at work. It also seems well-constructed, which I like. I am going next week to get the navigation system and headrest DVD's installed and then some pix. I had to escort my wife off the lot yesterday as she was hanging around a new Denali SUV for longer than I felt she should have been. My dad, who has owned/driven Fords all his life, said after riding with me that the new GMC was the nicest truck he had ever been in. And from my dad, that's saying something. He is still writing me out of the will.

Same thing happened to me. Traded a Superdoody in on a GMC3500, then traded our Volvo XC-90 in on a loaded Tahoe.

Denali's are ureal loaded up with the 6.2L V-8.

Odd... I have 28K on my stockers and they are still in great shape. I expect another 25-30K out of them, seriously! I have a 50 gallon transfer flow tank in the back that is full most of the time, and I drive nice. I cannot understand why you would go through tires so fast unelss you have a leveling kit or that your alignment is way off....

I should have mentioned I ditched the stock tires almost right away. If my truck was a street truck they would have been fine, but I need traction offroad in our fields and they just did not cut it at all.

Yeah, I was in the fields today making sure the tiles were working and picking up some rocks.... I got a little gutsy and found myself in a mess.... I was stuck in a setion and unable to move all because the tires loaded with mud.... Reverse was not fast enough to clean them out. Forward cleaned them out, but not enough to move me over a hump. I had to get a tug just to get out. the rear diff, shock mounts, not front end ever bottomed out.... It was all the tires loaded with mud and no traction. Not even enough to let the tires dig.....

I ussually stay out of the fields when its wet as I only pack the ground, so the tires don't matter... except a few times over the year... I hate to pay 800 or more for new tires on a new truck...

So JC, How is the truck? pics?

Now ask yourself that question again. Do you really think you'll spend "$50,000" and have "no value" in 2 months?

If you don't mind me saying, your problems are all in your head. They're assisted by the news media who's sole purpose is to put everyone in a state of panic so they'll keep watching the news. Quite honestly, the news media is doing more to aid the demise of GM & Chrysler right now as anyone. They're helping people like yourself decide not to buy GM or Chysler because "they may not be here next year".

I bet they're both here next year because I have common snese and I don't panic or believe in hype. GM is not going away. Bankruptcy or merger does not mean "the end". It means "reorganization".

If it makes you feel any better, the president himself said the gov't will pick up any warranty concerns on GM & Chrysler vehicles. I don't think this will ever happen. I think these companies will honor all warranties. If they don't, then they WILL create their own demise.

I see guys buy used equipment from companies that disappeared 10-20 years ago with no hesitation. They certainly still have "value", they're still able to get parts & service, don't they?

I agree. The media up here sounds like they hope GM & Chrysler go bankrupt. Either they have no clue that it means "reorganization" or they just want to sell papers and increase ratings for news shows. Our media up here is so "import" biased it makes me puke. And for no reason whatsoever they alweays seem to plug imports more than domestics, in fact the domestics usually get put down for no reason whatsoever.

I will buy another GMC - No Problems whatsoever.

When I buy a truck I make the deal then at the end if I do not like the tires I tell them what I want and if they can not make it happen I walk. Has worked the last 3 times out. I am a BFG guy but this new truck I just got has some meats on it. They are a brand I had never heard of but did a search on the net and they got great reviews. They are Hankook Dynapro RT03 in 33"x11.5"x17" rim size.. Here is a pic.

Good man. It's great to see there's a few of us still standing. I can't find anything in an import that I can't find done just as well in a domestic. Sure, they may have a catchy advertising campaign or some catchy features, but not enough to sway my decision.

There's plenty of foreign companies building products we don't produce in the US, you can't do much about that, but in full size trucks, we're still at the top.

Hankook makes quality tires. See lots of them on OTR trucks up here. I would not hesitate to buy a set next time. I know I will NOT be buying another set of Michelin LTX. They were worthless crap the lat time I had them, and they have not improved much. Were on the truck when we got it. They may make awesome tractor tires, but the vehicle tires are crap.
