I just got a KKII 6' tiller and it doesn't like to stay upright in a nice easy-to-attach position. My Kuhn tiller had a removable stand. I'd like to add some kind of stand to the new tiller which should be pretty easy, but I figured I'd check here first to see what others may have done. No need to reinvent the wheel! ;)

My tiller has the kickstand like your old one did.
You can use some 4 x 4's cut to length to hold in the position you want and lower down on them. In fact, I use wood to prop up most of my implements with wood for easier hook up the next time. It also keeps them out of the dirt a little better.

No need to re-invent the wheel but you will be the one using it, what may work well for one may not for you.
Look at what the manufactures did that do have kick stands and go from there.
My Agric has a stand but the Agric is a little different from the KK design.

I keep my tiller indoors on a cement floor. The kickstands were nice.. but it was still a pain to move. So I bought 2 cheap rollers (casters) from harbor frieght and i made a mount for it to sit on and screwed it to the 2 rollers. I can move around my 8-900 pound tiller with very little effort and without the tractor. It helps to keep the barn usable. I can take pics if interested.:p

I don't have one on my tiller, which has a decent kick stand already, but here is what I did for the rest of my stuff.

I used the adjustable stabilizer jacks for trailers. They're ~ $20 ea, hold 1000 lbs and seem to work well. I added a spring so they retract automatically when you press the release lever (with your foot).

I use my rake and blade away from home a lot and didn't always have an even surface to swap on. With these stands the quick hitch doesn't have a problem attaching when the implement is on uneven ground.

Wow, very nice. And, where do you find these jacks?

Thanks,

It's an Atwood 275200. Most trailer and RV places have them in stock or they can be found all over the net. There is a handle they sell seperately that isn't really needed unless you plan to put 1000 lbs on the jack.

Not only do they extend and retract but they also swing up and lock in place. All in all they are very versatile, especially for the price. If it ever stops raining I'll take a pic or two of them retracted and folded up, very compact.

I bought mine locally but this place has them pretty cheap:

Just put some short 2 x 4 under the skid shoes. (works for me)

Yah, I know...but I'd rather have the support as part of the implement rather than lugging blocks of wood around with me if I'm not parking things in the same location all the time.

I see............My tiller tends to pivot on the tines so it would need a leg both fore and aft to stabilize it.

Yeah - mine does the exact same thing. The problem is worse when the skid shoes is up all the way for max tilling depth. For some reason the tiller is back heavy and the kickstand is in the front only? For now , I just park it on a 4X6 block on each side on skid shoes and it works. But as OP mentioned its a PITA to lug them around if you unhook the tiller in a different location.

I'm in the same boat as you, New KK. it likes to "roll" forward when disconnecting. here is my idea:
I'm going to weld a stud (or tap threads) into the rt forward outside of the tiller and mount a 1x1 tubing as the kick stand. When not needed I can pivot it 270 degrees and it will lay in a cradle along the top edge, perhaps with a pit pin to hold it down. May work on it this weekend.. if so I'll post pictures

And no tape measures nor squares were harmed in the making of this project.
