After almost a year of my tractor sitting under a make shift roof and sorta getting wet, I finally purchased a new 12'X24' garage. Now I need a proper ramp (couldn't wait to put it inside, so I used car ramps) and shelving to put inside. The first picture was it's former home. Now I can finally use my BXpanded backhoe dolly the way it was intended and not on plywood on the grass.

Before next winter, I hope so. I need to run electric and then add lights, plugs and fans. Also need to put in some insulation.

Tod,

That is awesome! I bet you sleep better at night.
Now when you are not at the meetings, I am going to have to jimmy the door instead of cut your pad lock!!!:D

Nice Work!
I will be moving soon, we have an offer on our current home (time to downsize a bit), and I will be giving up my 20 x 40 pole barn. I am curious, is that a prefab garage, or kit?

It looks lonley in there, but I bet it will get crouded out in about a month!

Thanks for the compliment but I really didn't do much to get it in place. It's a prefab garage ($4100 with free delivery) that I bought at one of the roadside shed dealers. I think it was made by the amish and they do great work. I cleared the area of any sod and then had 12 tons of 3/4" bluestone delivered and I spread it about 6" deep with my BX. I did have to remove one fence post and 4 boards to get it in my backyard because I only left 11' 9" for my gate and the garage with 12' wide.

Not any more Tom!! Most of my yard tools are now hanging on the walls, bought a 5 shelf storage unit, a pegboard with hangers, a 5'X8' rubber mat to go under the tractor and a few implements inside. Once I get a proper ramp, I will put my BH inside also.

You chose well, all the comforts, none of the hassles! Just means more seat time available for other pursuits.

How thick is the plywood deck? Is it pressure treated? I am looking for a home for baby bota, don't want her in the rain.

I would also recommend these Amish-built sheds... I've had a small one for about 11 years now, and it's held up very well. (I needed to get all the snow tires out of my basement!)

Pressure treated 4x4 bottom rails, PT 5/8" plywood floor, which I coated with epoxy paint. After pricing out materials, I found the ready-built shed was only a bit more, but it's all done, painted, and constructed well, even with 1/4" plywood gussets on the roof rafters.

I still keep snow/summer tires in it on a rack I built, but also use it for winter motorcycle and lawn mower storage; in summer the ol' walk-behind blower goes in.

There was also the consideration that it would probably take me a month of Sundays to get one built myself, I'm no carpenter!....:D

8' x 14', $1812 in 1998. Caution! These things will fill up fast!!

Thank you Old Paths. irvingj almost described my garage to answer your questions. The garage has pressure treated 4x4 bottom rails and pressure treated 5/8" plywood floor. I haven't painted mine yet and not sure which way I will go with it. For now, I bought a 5'X8' rubber mat from TSC that is sitting under the tractor.

Agreed irvingj, it's filling up fast and I'm trying to take my time and place everything in there right the first time for the best access.

Just wanted to follow up with a few pictures of the new garage after all my implements were put inside. I put my box blade and spreader on furniture dollys (thanks to great suggestions here on TBN) and the BH is on my BXpanded dolly. I knew the dolly was good on plywood on the grass but it's even better on a flat hard surface (thanks Harry).

I see ya got one a them fancy "ball chairs"-- looks like it doubles as a spreader! (Or is that just a mid-shed 3-pointer?):D:D

Nice looking interior, but not nearly cluttered enough!:D

I was wondering if anyone would catch the ball in the spreader. I took it out for a few pictures but then put it back in before I closed the door. The ball actually served a great purpose when the spreader was outside under a tarp. The ball kept the water from standing on top of the tarp.

It's getting more cluttered now. I emptied a small shed today and threw out most of the stuff but some made it to the new garage.
