Central Texas eigh ? How far are you from the FT Hood/Austin area ? I got a lot of years at FT Hood, home of the 1st Cavalry Division.

Fort Hood is about an hour north west of me, I'm out in Bastrop County

Just curious though as to why you said you'd "drive there also but not for the fill-up." Like me, are you driving there cause you can ??? :D :D :D

MissouriThunder

What I meant to say was that I would drive there if I had one close but not for each tank full. I would put two empty 5 gallon cans in the FEL and drive there every third fill up. During mowing season, I go through too much diesel mowing my 7 acre farm to go for every fill up. Tod

*Why not toss a 15 or 30 gallon drum in the bucket
and make fewer trips with the tractor.

Because the drum will probably be too heavy to lift to fill the tractor?

too heavy?! the BX24's,25's can lift it's own backhoe with the FEL.

SouthernConservative,
Sooooo nice down there in your part of Texas. All you had to say was the city of Round Rock. We loved that place. As a matter of fact, that's where my wife insisted on buying a piano for our boys when we were at Ft Hood last (summer of 2004). I suppose it's getting pretty hot there about this time of year.

thavil (sir),
I agree with you more than ever. I never thought about "fresh fuel" and there is strong scientific evidence to support the theroy. Think I'll make the treck every so often to the BP station.

LBrown59,
As much as I hate to disagree with you I think thavil is right. At least for my situation. That doesn't mean I have less respect for you none the less. Your fuel tranfer station is great but not for my particular situation. Stopped by the chrome shop today and they told me my chrome smoke stack will be ready by next Wenesday. I'm not holding my breath....

You missed my sarcasism radioman. I was attempting to say that a 15 or 30 gallon drum would be too heavy to lift manually to pour into the fuel tank. Just trying to make a point that a drum would be more hassle than it's worth IMO.

Redbug,
I wasn't expecting this kind of response when I started this thread. I just can't believe how many differnt topics we've all talked about within the thread itself.
