LBrown59,
Good point. I'll call the dealership again on Monday and make sure they know I already have the control valve and see if that changes the price.

jimmyj,
Thanks for the blessing. I'm sloooowly starting to understand how to change the profile settings that TBN gives us. :) :) :)

LBrown59,
I read thru your threads of diesal storage and transfer and I think your photos clearly show a safe way to store petrolieum (spelling I know) products. If you're hinting that I should be thinking about how I'll store fuel for my tractor I truly appreciate it. However, I don't own a Kubota Fleet as you do I just have one. My thoughts were to keep a close eye on the fuel gage and when I get down to 1/4 or 1/8th of a tank, I'll simply drive her into town where there's a BP station with diesal and fill her up. From the driveway to the BP station it's one mile. Is my thinking way off on this or should I look into getting a storage tank (I like the old, 250 gallon metal ones myself). Your thoughts ?

Here's my $.02 on fuel storage from one Army dude to another. I think 250 gallons would be way over-kill unless you use your BX quite a few hours everyday all year around. I would recommend 2 five gallon yellow fuel containers to store your fuel in. Just for the heck of it, if I lived that close to a fuel station, I would drive the tractor there also but not for each fillup.

Just in case you haven't read about Power Service, do a search on the subject. Power Service (and it's equivalent) is a great additive to diesel. I add about 2ozs to each 5 gallon can that I fillup year around.

thavil,
Long time no hear my fellow brothern at arms. For a minute there I thought you paid a visit to Fiddler's Green (1st CAV folklore sorry). Yes I agree. If I have a petro station so close to home then why bother with a home fueling station. I guess when LBrown mentioned the home fuel station it made sense and it brought back some childhood memories of my Uncle Don in Nebraska and his steel tank sitting in the yard. My older cousins would pull up under the 15 ft fuel tower and let me remove the fuel cap from the tractor so they could re-fuel. You're probabley (spelling I know) right that this would not be cost effective.

Just curious though as to why you said you'd "drive there also but not for the fill-up." Like me, are you driving there cause you can ??? :D :D :D

Goodnight gentlemen. It's 2100 and the taps bugle call just sounded thru the speaker system here at Ft Wood. The Army just sent out another mass email announceing the death of another Soldier that died while home on R&R. A 21- year old male SGT died in a motorcycle crash on his way home from a party in Virginia. Please keep his family in you prayers.

MissoriThunder (wish TBN had a "Smiles" sign for sadness cause I'd show like to show it).

Compact1,
Holy cow, that's not a tractor you have there it's a beast ! What a beautiful piece of machinery !

I didn't mean to go off on a tangent last night about the non-combat related death of another Soldier it's just that my emotions got the best of me. These kids (and I mean young 18 and 19 year olds) serve an entire year of combat in Iraq and Afhganistan with the utmost vigilance and survive. Then they come home and die in car accidents, motorcycle accidents (alcohol is usually involved as was the case of this one) and other stupid stuff that can be so easily avoided. About every four or five days the Army blasts out an email stating the facts so the rest of us are reminded of just how precious life is. I know this isn't the appropiate forum for this subject and I won't bring it up again. It just kills me. My oldest son is 18 and headed for college this fall. If he ever did something as stupid as this I'd choke him out myself. Thanks for listening Jeff.

1*I agree that's why the 15 30 or 55 gallon home built set ups are great.
2*I did exactly that for 4 years for my BX 23 20004 - 2008 .
Hated them and built my rig to get away from the cans.
Had I known what I know now I'd have built the set up in 2004 instead of waiting to 2008.
3*I don't live that close to a station and even if I did I'd still use my set up.
Getting fuel delivered is safer/ keeps me and the tractor off the road.
Saves me time running after fuel.
Delivered fuel cost me less per gallon than going after fuel at a station.
4*When i was using the cans i put 3 OZs in each can.

5*Nope just thought you might find it another interesting aspect of tractoring.
6*Let me put it this way If I was to sell off 2 of my BXs I would not give up my fuel storage setup and would keep right on using it with just one tractor.
7*8*9* See 3*.
10*Only you can decide what's best for you.
11*To big:A 15 30 or 55 gallon drum would be better in your case.
