Rob, I've had my loader off a number of times, and while I see some flex when remounting it especially, it sure seems rock solid in use. The only time I had any trouble putting it back on was when my neighbor came over to see how easily it went on........ figures, but we just laughed about that. I've used it to it's limits several times with rocks, and stumps, and I really like it.
I like my loaded R-4's pretty well after having them a full year. I have a lot of that black clay based damp soil in my woods, and they have worked fine there while improving my logging roads to be access roads / trails. I wasn't so impressed last winter on any kind of slope with any kind of ice, slick snow cover. There is a 5 ft rise to my oil fill, and often I could get the tractor up, but couldn't use the loader at all. I had to get as far as I could, and then backdrag the snow. I'll probably have chains on it this winter. I've decided not to finish mow with mine for now at least, but I would stick with turfs for that. I'm not sure how much less impact turfs would have when the ground is tender.
I have three bucket hooks welded on short pieces of angle iron on my bucket, and love them. I've attached a picture. The short angle iron gives me a place to put things like steel bars, and I've sure used all three hooks.
You will also like the QA very much. I just got mine, and have used it for the forks, and just to take the bucket off. It doesn't seem to affect lift capacity though I know technically that it does. Actually, I have been able to lift odd shaped things with my forks, and the QA that I couldn't lift with the bucket without the QA because the forks allow me to get the load closer to the pins. Don't do what I did though, and install the pins the way they came..... make sure the greasable ones are back where the QA pivots. Duh!
