Wow, Mr. Brown...that is a tremendous amount of space to say one single thing. Impressive.
To the point, the
BX23 is the same generation as the
BX1830 and
BX2230. This generation improved VERY slightly on the previous generation, the
BX22,
BX1800, and
BX2200. This entire time, the 2 cylinder
BX1500 was produced with little change.
Major improvements happened with the
BX24,
BX1850, and
BX2350. But there were some changes that needed to be made, and that brings us to the current generation
BX25,
BX1860,
BX2360, and
BX2660.
So for the sake of discussion, the BX, obviously, is the Kubota sub-compact line of tractors. The first two numbers refer to the horsepower of the tractor...15, 18, 22, 23, or 26. The last two numbers refer to the "generation" of tractor...00 came first, the the '30' series, the '50' series, and the '60' series, which is the most current.
I have the '30' series and love it. All metal and very tractor-y. The newer ones are quite nice, but had some teething issues that have been corrected. I had the option between the '30' and '50' series when I purchased my tractor and have been very pleased with my decision.
That sounds like an OK price...not incredibly good, but not bad for what you're getting. For me to buy that tractor, it'd have to be stored inside. If it is a 2005, faded paint and popped seat would be indicative of an outside tractor. Mine has been kept inside since new and it is shiny and not faded.
