If a young kid can crack into the DOD computers

Sure they can...but those are "server" systems that are set up to recieve "requests"...any time a user clicks a link or enters a URL into the address tray of a browser the computer is sending a "request"...

Servers recieve requests and serve the requested file be it a web page, a picture or other file...to be a server there has to be software running that "listen" for requests...most personal computers do not run server software...however many of the common spyware/malware/trojans floating around the Internet install such programs and turn home PC into servers which makes themn vulnerable to such activity...

Gotcha Pine, Interesting info , Thanks for taking the time to post it . Thats about the only thing I do understand about Puters , is how to Protect it from spyware & viruses .

But Much like everything else , as soon as someone comes up with a way to block them, They figure out away to get around it .

Back on Topic & sorry about hijacking the thread . I really cant Beleive anyone is falling for the cash for clunkers deal. In the long run, as said before Its Only going to cost Us all & only benefit the ones that choose to take advantage of it . Then Once They cant afford the new vehicle its going to cost us again. . Once again if You cant afford it , Dont buy it . Just My opinion though . :D Bob

/Pine is right on target.

IMHO Glen Beck is a sensationalist crybaby. He Knows about computers as much as anything else hes flappin his gums about, which isnt that much.

The Govt isnt using Cash for clunkers to spy on the citizens. Thats what the secret rooms at AT&T are for:eek:

The thing is, I'm pretty sure you have to buy a new vehicle in that cash for clunkers program, right?

How many people with an old, inefficient car can afford to go out and buy a brand new vehicle? There's a reason people are driving around these old gas guzzlers. They can't afford something else. $4500 is not going to change that in most cases, in my opinion.

Dave Ramsey was blasting the program last week. I think he said he drove a $200 clunker for a while after he first went broke. Saved his money and hen traded to a something like a $1000 clunker, and kept repeating the process until he could have a decent car again. In the last 20 years since that happened, he hasn't had a car payment. His take on the whole thing is the govt., who has no money itself, is trying to get people to go into debt to buy new cars they can't afford. He said it made as much financial sense as the whole mortgage mess.

Just my thought .

People with a marginal to bad credit score would normally be turned down for a $600. car payment.

However the same individual with $4500. cash down [KLUNKER MONEY] very well will qualify for a $600. mo payment.

Stop and think about it.

They drive a Klunker and are not use to making car payments. Now they have a $600. nut.

When the novelty of the new vehicle wears off but the $600. payment keeps coming watch out.

No need to respond I have myself on IGNORE !
