First let me say what a great thread on well drilling which I have considered trying on some new property that I have.
Has any one seen the web page on the Hydra-Drill? It looks like a giant drill press but instead of an electric motor driving the drill it has a gas 6hp motor sitting on a frame that hooks too a drill stem and then too a bit.
And this got me thinking about making my own frame and mounting a motor in the same way and drilling my own irrigation well. Their are a few holes in my idea, what to use for a drill stem?, do I need too wash or flush the hole for grindings? what too use for casing?
Are wells are averaging between50 to 75 ft, I was told this by a local driller. And would be drilling in clay at least for the first few feet, after that I dont know?
Has anyone drilled a well yet? and what about drilling fluid? My mind is going a million mph! Like I dont have enough projects going on!
