Just put on the FEL harley rake (ATI Preseeder actually). Its spinning, but spinning much more slowly than normal. Anyone have any guesses about what might be the problem?

I'm going to put on a similar attachment (rockhound) tomorrow, in an effort to see whether its tractor side or implement side, but thought someone on here might have some useful info (often the case)

Did it work before? Or is this the first time you tried it? My first guess would be that the hydraulic flow is to low...

I didn't know a compact had enough flow to run a skid steer harley rake. That could be the problem. Do you know the minimum flow required for it? Do you know the tractor's flow?

I would re-seat the QD's, and put a gage in the system. What is the model number and brand name of the rake. They make them in different sizes. Determine what your hyd GPM is on your tractor, and see if the input GPM on the Harley Rake matches.

According to everything attachments, a 84" harley rake requires a min flow of 15GPM. Our OP's M-59 has a GPM of 26.7, so there should be plenty enough there to do it.

I wonder if it's a hydraulic tank capacity issue?

Yeah, sorry I wasn't clear - I've been using it for a year and normally it works fine. It just stopped working, but not completely - instead it won't get up to speed.

The m59 will run standard flow skidsteer stuff off the front

oh, and the rake is an ATI preseeder 72. And I think I only have 15-16 gpm on the front remotes, the total gpm includes the backhoe pump.

And not only is the rake spinning slowly now, it has much less power, if that means anything.

Your going to have to get some gauges on there and see whats up.

Could be possible that the hyd motor is wearing out and bypassing internally. Or blockages in the hyd lines etc.

ok, just finished trying it with a rockhound that used to work - same issue - slow and no strength. So it would seem to be on the tractor end, and is probably something blocking the flow.

Do quick connects ever get clogged up?

Something that is probably related, now that it seems not to be the attachment. Front remotes are electric over hydraulic. My joystick, which has buttons that control the front remote, recently broke and I replaced it, along with the wiring from the joystick. I would figure that being electrical, this would either work, or not work. Is it possible that it is "partially" working, and the valve is being opened enough?

It is possible for there to be electrical problems. Causing your issues. Solenoids can partially open.

As i said, without some data as to what your motor is actually seeing (ie GPM or pressure) then its hard to narrow it down exactly.

You could try bypassing your electric remote or try another hydraulic implement,if possible and see if that fixes it, than youd narrow it down abit.
