new holland tc- 35
I have a New Holland TC 35 with FEL and woods backhoe.
I want to mount a Meyers 6.5' snowplow to the FEL.
I have already figured out the mount for the plow to the bucket.
The question I have is if it would make any sense to tap into the hydraulics used for the backhoe.
When using the snowplow I would simply pin the backhoe in the upright position and strap the stabilizers together so they will not creep down.
The other posts I have seen all seem to use a diverter valve tied into the bucket curl funtion. (pricey)
I already have a 2 spool control in stock from an old tractor that I thought i could use to control the side to side movement of the plow.
Just thinking I might be able to use somthing I already own and try to save a few pennies.
Does this sound like it would work?

why not rig up a solid link to lock the bucket (curl) in place and just use that function off the current FEL control to control left/right.

think about it on a regular truck. you have up/down (lift bucket up down) and left/right)

That sounds interesting.
I thought it might be useful to be able to curl the bucket a little to change the angle of the blade (for scraping packed snow or back blading)
Also I was not sure what position to fix the curl of the bucket till i used it on some snow.

You could use the boom to apply down pressure.

You would want to set the curl angle at whatever makes the A frame on the plow level.

Hooking into my FEL curl function sounds like it would be the most resonable way to power the plow. What would be the easiest way to plumb it in to the curl circuit?

I think I would just put QD's on the hoses where they meet the cylinder on one side and connect your plow hoses there.

Jeez that just seems to easy and inexpensive to be true.
So you mean I could leave the plumbing intact on the other cylinder and just add a few QD's and some flexable hydraulic lines and be done with it.

Pretty much.

Here is my take:

Having had a FEL mounted plow in the past, I can assure you that having the curl function of the blade is very important. Very often you need to change the angle of attack of the blade as surface condition vary.

That said, here is the best way to add a valve:

You backhoe is fed by two hoses, You need to identify which hose is the supply, and which is the return-then you can plumb a new valve is series with those lines. Then you just run 2 long hoses (1/4" is all you need) to the FEL to connect to the plow cylinders.

I can get more detailed if you choose this route.

Thanks a bunch for the ideas. It would not be much trouble at all to remove the plow setup when I want to switch to spring mode.
By leaving the other piston still plumbed in I am assuming it will just bypass and the flow will be the the plow pistons. I do not have a lot of hydraulic experience so please bear with me. Am I risking causing any harm to the hydraulics with this method?
