Looks to me like he's parked with 1/2 of the trailer hanging out in the street.. that could be a problem!

Now if that pickup was green... THEN we would have problems?? heheh.

Oh geez. I don't see a problem. ITS EMPTY! :D Surely the compact truck sure can handle at least 4 k no problem and with it being a gooseneck it sure would be better then a bumper pull. I am sure any gooseneck owners can attest.

Slight highjacking ...

Speaking of Buicks, I pull a thousand pound trailer with a two thousand five hundred pound CUT on it.

Let me see -- the Buick is 2003YM , FrontWD, V6 3800, 203hp, 50mph speed limit. Oh, self-leveling car also ....

Now that's a sight!

That trailer empty probably weighs as much as the truck. The truck must not be overloaded because it's not "squatting" with the load.

If the truck has a elec. brake control, or hydraulic surge brakes on the trailer, and it was adjusted to let the trailer do most of the braking, I think it would be okay for moving the empty trailer around.

I think without trailer brakes, his truck will need brakes real soon even in easy driving.

Last weekend I saw a f150 with a long 5th wheel in the camp ground
At first I thought it was a chase car then I saw the hitch in the bed.
I don't know the weight of the trailer but it looked long because the truck was 1/2 in the road and the trailer looked all the way back in the site.

It's very common in our area to see "hot shot" drivers pulling trailers larger than that, fully loaded with oil field supplies or marine equipment. Their trailers have dual axles with dual wheels and look very similar to the flatbeds pulled by 18 wheelers.

Of course they use Ford 350 or Dodge diesels to pull them and the trailers are balanced to carry most of the weight and have excellent brakes.

I know for a fact hat our DOT's around here would find fault with that..He would'nt get far off the gravel roads....Why do you need a 5'th wheel on a small truck..?

That's what I thought. Maine CMVE would stop that because the trailer empty is over GVW.
