yup that is the way I understood it, a zillion ways to do it but if you don't have the tools........you should work on having friends with the same interests....chances are they will have the tools

I live so far out in the boonies...I have them all

except for the ones that got burned up in my barn fire

Do you have a sawzall? With a metal cutting blade it would take about 2 minutes. Then clean up the cut edge with a file or grinder.

TWO MINUTES!?!? maybee if your doing it by hand with a hacksaw!

a good metal cutting sawzall will cut through that in under a min. Ive done it.

a 4.5" grinder with cut off disc (expect to use it up)
a 14" metal chop saw
a gas axe
a bandsaw with metal blade

Well despite all the encouragement to DIY, I stopped by the lawn mower shop down the street today and sure enough they had a torch and grinder.

Picking up the finished pieces tomorrow at lunch. An angle grinder probably would have been cheaper

Machine shop charged me $40 to cut these down.


As it turns out, I'm not even sure I needed them cut as I found a different better arm position to use in the end. However, it does look pretty all trimmed off;

For that price you could have had them chromed and polished here in Northern Michigan!!!!!

Looking at the top link mount, is that the heavy duty one? My dealer suggested the heavy duty upper link mount for a 3 point hitch backhoe. The one for the b7500 looks like an l- shape that bolts to the seat mount bolts and the pto cover bolts and the 4 bolts your upper link uses. Page 6 of this link (pdf) seems to indicate a heavy duty top link for the b7800.

I didn't know they made an HD top link bracket for the B7800, but thank you very much for pointing that out. I assume mine is not HD.

I guess I will head over to the Kubota dealer tomorrow and see how much they want for one that will fit the B7800.

Next time:

Do you have an ordinary electric jig saw? You can get metal cutting blades for a couple of dollars at Lowes or Home Depot and they will cut 1/4 inch thick, no problem, works quite well in fact.
