Dumbest Thing you have done with your tractor

Last night I drove into the barn with the ROPS up AGAIN!!! Damaged the top of the door frame AGAIN. Dumb dumb dumbola! I have to change the door, this is the 5th time I have done it in a year.

Hmm, maybe it's time to raise the door header so you can drive through without damaging it?

I'm wondering if maybe a backup warning system attached to the *front* of the ROPS would help?

Time to hang a tennis ball or some sort of curtain to remind you of what's up ahead. Maybe a "Low bridge" sign that moves and makes noise to awaken you from autopilot driving into the barn....

A wiffle ball bat attached to the ROPS on a hinge with a lever that engages a spring loaded mechanism to smack you up aside the head when you try driving through the door again.

My ROPS clears the garage door by about 1.5". That's the only thing that saves me.

You could have the better half out there to guide you in each time so then she can rap you along side the noggin with a rolling pin...Some of the words I always hated to hear from her was "I told you so!"

I was going to suggest a bucket of water over the door, but I like the whiffle bat idea better (more mechanical doohickeys).

5 times in a year, thats got to be a record! How much too tall is your rops? Better to come up with some type of solution now, cause there is still 2 months and a half left in this year. I like the tennis ball idea, simple, cheap, fast, and hopefully effective, good luck.

Sounds to me like you have a substantial need for a new, bigger barn! At least try reasoning out on the wife! LOL

I'm fortunate, all my barns are big enough for all the equipment as long as I keep the boom low on the mini excavator.

Yeah, well FELs are not good for close mowing. Take up room and block vision. It's usually only trees that I pick on with mine.

I was trying to weedeat with my finish mower when I hit my A/C unit and pulled it away from the house, knocked it off its pad and pulled the "return" trunk line loose. Idiot!!!
