Correct me if I'm wrong but if its 2560 psi then the lift capacity would be 1478.

I double checked my service manual Michigan Iron nailed it 2480-2560psi.

Now, this is getting good.
Very interesting, indeed.
Thanks to all for the wonderful info.

Not sure if I should start a new thread on this or not.........but...

I checked out a Bobcat CT235 today, since it has proven either expensive of not possible (from the same dealer) to get a CK35 w/Woods loader. And the 7TL is rated @1600 lbs @ the lift pins.

Hmm. Some things I noticed. The mount to the tractor (for the 7TL) was not the "box" design I'm used to on both the Kubota & Kioti loader mounts. The loader arms mounted outside the vertical "arms" on the CT235. Opposed the inside the "box" arms on the Kiotis & Kubotas. I'm not an engineer, but the box design seems better to me, supporting both the sides and back of the loader arms.

Also, the hyrdo connectors where underneath the tractor, opposed to near the top of the mounting arms. Out of sight, yes. Vulnerable to being ripped off by a branch or smashed by a rock, yes. I liked the KL130 design better. Can't imagine that the 7TL has a bigger lift rating than the KL130, esp with the new style w/QA bucket on the KL130. It just seems to be a lot more heavy duty than the 7TL.

I should rephrase my post. Michigan Iron would know far better then I would since they sell and repair them.;) I looked in the service manual I forgot I even had and its listed right there 2480-2560.

We pressure test the hydrulic systems all the time. If they aren't between 2500 and 2560 psi, we adjust the pressure relief to spec.

It is very rare that a new unit from the factory will be out of spec.

One issue that has not been discussed in this thread is the Product Liability. Manufacturers will rate a piece of equipment based on their Product Liability policy. Product Liability law is the US can be nasty. Manufacturers are required to do 3-things to protect the public from inherent liability issues with a product:

Warn Against
Guard Against
Design Against

Equipment ratings is one way manufacturers comply with Product Liability Laws. All the Fluid Mechanics and Statics calculations are fine, but the load rating for a piece of equipment comes from more than the engineering department.

My DK35 fits quite nicley in my garage with my loader on and a rake. Take measurements of the two side by side. You will be surprised that the DK is only a couple inches wider and longer than the CK. The height is what makes it deceptive. I agree that if you are worried about the lift capacity, get the DK and NEVER worry about it again. I am kinda kicking myself for not spending the extra $$ on the DK45! I was worried about the size myself, but have more than happy with the larger (and heavier) tractor.

Be careful though. The DK35 is shorter to top of ROPS than the DK40 and DK45 so don't assume the whole DK series would fit. Also, the DK35 has the KL351 with around 1500-1600lbs lift capacity. The bigger loader, the KL401, only fits on the DK40/45.

I have moved 90 tons of crushed rock this year with my CK30 HST and have no complaints with the capacity of the loader. Even with a box blade on the back and loaded tires I could feel the rear end getting light if I went over a bump with a full load in the bucket. If my tractor was lighter it would scare me to lift more. Test drive them before you make a final decision.

Yep, I'd say the KL130 outperforms its specs. Probably closer to what Woods is specifying. At any rate, I too have moved over 700 tons with the KL130. Some of it heavy rip-rap filled to way out on a toothbar. No complaints at all.

I think it's sized just right for that tractor. Though I haven't experienced the light rear. Probably due to loaded tires and a rear implement, most of the time.

What you have to watch for is to not put too much load on the front axle. Yeah, it's a beefy front axle, but still I'd be careful with putting too powerful a loader on it.

If you really need to lift 1 ton pallets and such with the loader, you need a bigger tractor and it doesn't matter what color it comes in. None of the 30ish HP machines can do it effectively. I'd say you are allowing your storage limitations drive you to buying a tractor that may not fit your needs. Buy the right size tractor and then worry about where/how to store it.

Would there be warranty concern with a loader with considerable more weight and lift power than the Kioti Loader. Many years ago (early 80s) I had an 80hp tractor with a strong aftermarket loader. Really liked the power but within 3 years I had to replace power steering cylinder twice and had damage to the rim - it was just not built for that much loader.
Bigger lets you do jobs faster but costs more to buy and operate. If you have the time - smaller may be better.

Yota,
Here are a couple pictures a customer sent to me (not re-touched)of his KL130 loader at work.
Keep in mind that his tires are loaded and he has a backhoe on the rear.
This stump and log are maple and still green. As you can see, the KL130 is able to lift well over it's printed capacity.
