This is the one I put on the canopy, haven't even tried it on the road yet, But I think it's gonna work.

bicycle shops sell a rear mirror, head mounted, just keep it in your tool box and wear it with your favorite hat.

That's the first thing taht came to me also. Simple & cheap.

This is the first thing that came to my mind as well. They can be difficult for some folks to get used to but it is a very cheap thing to try and you will not have to modify your tractor. There are models that can be attached to glasses or a hat/bike helmet. I've used one for 30 years. Once it is set up right you just have to turn your head a little to see the road behind.

In this country JDs come equipped with 2 mirrors mounted on the fenders. You're not allowed on the road without them. They are not too much in the way and give you a very comfortable view of what's going on behind you. What's more, I have managed not to break them so far. They seem to be very expensive at JD dealers, but I'm sure comparable mirrors could be found elsewhere for a fraction of the price.

Thanks for all the replies / ideas....very helpful. (Get a welding magnet from HF, take out the bolt and spring and mount one of those bike mirrors in the magnet.) Not sure what a welding magnet is, but like the magnet rout....
...Kebo, dont have a trailer or truck big enough to pull this tractor.....yet....but someday. I actually only do the highway thing about once a month, hopefully that wont be too hard on the tires.

Those look like they would be very effective, never thought about clamping to the hand grabs. I do use mine to grab though, guess there's still enough there.

I've seen some pictures of your tractor before is that a 3pt mounted hedge trimmer on a hyd boom? Must be for a special app.

Yes, you are right, it's a 3pt hedge trimmer on a hyd boom and with a hyd engine. Nothing special about it, many people have them here. With about a kilometer of various hedges, some of them very high, and not being as young as I used to be, I insisted on buying it with the tractor. Spend quite a lot of time using it in the summer months. Not as noisy as a mower but requires much more attention.

I decided to mount 8" convex mirrors - I really only need them when blowing snow. Having the wider field of view is useful, and the convex mirrors don't convey engine vibration as readily as flat mirrors do.

Well, its been a while, I actually made a mirror a while back but finally took a pic the other day. Made out of 2 welding magnets, a shelf bracket from Wal-Mart, and a replacement mirror from Autozone. I had to drill the holes in the bracket a little bit bigger for the magnet bolts. Its been very handy while driving on the highway, and easy to attach and remove.
